38 Weeks 1 Day-April 9, 2008

Today was my last doc appt. Next time I will be checking in to the hospital. I gained 1 pound so now my total is 20 lbs overall. Not too bad I guess. I can blame it on baby and water, can't I?? lol......I am just excited that the next time I get on the scale it will be on the way down......I am so ready to not have to feel like my guts are falling out, knowutimean??? I am so at peace that this pregnancy is nearing its end and my baby is ready to come out of the oven......

37 Weeks 1 Day- April 2, 2008

Today the baby measured 8 lbs 7 oz on ultrasound. He got an 8 out of 8 on his Bio-physical profile (which is good) and they could see some hair. Less than 2 weeks until delivery.......Amazing! This weekend was my shower and it was so much fun. It was a nice turnout considering my family was out of town on Spring Break. I didn't need hardly anything but the things we needed we got. I wanted a rainforest jumparoo, and we got that. My Mother in law and her sister went in on a very nice monitor system with video and sound....which is super cool. The only thing I really want to get is a few more super soft blanets. Lennon is hooked up! Weight gain is at least slowing down.......I gained 2 more lbs but that's better than almost a pound a day.....puts me at 19 lbs total. It's almost over!

36 Weeks 2 Days-March 27, 2008

Yesterdays ultrasound went really well. The baby looked good and did everything he was supposed to. I am swelling really bad (just when I thought things couldn't get worse, lol) and have been gaining a pound a day for the last 8 days or so. In the last 15 days I have put on 11 lbs with no end in sight, bringing my grand total to a weight gain of 17 lbs. 17lbs isn't alot but when you consider 3 weeks ago I had only gained 6 it sounds awful. I think the doctor felt sorry for me but said they can't take the baby any earlier because there is too much risk his lungs won't be mature due to the diabetes. The swelling is really painful. My fingers hurt soooo bad like an old lady with arthritis. I can no longer wear socks and shoes unless I absolutely have to. (Sigh) Well, 2 1/2 weeks to go. I have already cut out sodium so unfortunately there really isn't anything I can do to help the situation. Hope all the other mommies are doing good now that were all nearing the end, and to those who are just beginning!

35 Weeks tomorrow-March 17, 2008

Well, thanks to the luck of the Irish I am having a great day! The appointment with the specialist went well and the doctor is not worried about the baby's heart at all. He thought the deceleration was from me lying on my back which is what I thought originally.....so all that drama and worry for nothing. 3 ultrasounds in 5 days is alot of ultrasounds. The baby is considered in the 75th percentile for his weight, whatever that means, and everything looked normal and healthy. We could have had a 4d picture but the baby was face down again!!!! OMG that is like the 3rd time they couldn't do it because he hides his face. Daddy says he's grounded first thing-lol.....Wow, I am so relieved and happy that is all over! Happy St. Patrick's Day!!! I won't be drinking green beer but we will try to party anyway-lol......

34 Weeks, 1 Day-March 12, 2008

I had the first of many many ultrasounds to come today. Not so good news. The baby's heart rate was dropping so I have to go back on Friday for another ultrasound and on Monday to a specialist for another detailed ultrasound. The big news is the baby is already 6 lbs 8 oz which is bigger than any baby I delivered at full term. Wow...if he goes all the way to the 15th of April he will be over 9lbs. I gained 2 lbs in 2 weeks which puts me at 9lbs total gained, but now that I know he is as big as some full term babies I can see why .....Hopefully his heart is okay, it did come back up. It was the scariest thing when the nurse practioner showed me first the baby's head which is down, then his back and then stood quiet and quietly walked out of the room. You know when they quietly walk out something is wrong. A couple minutes later the doc walked in and watched.....very scary really. Apparently the GD can cause problems with the baby's heart. The big decision is what is better or worse for the baby? To deliver early is scary because GD babies have a hard times with lung development, even more so than other pre-term babies. To keep him inside is scary because his heart rate could be dropping to a bad amount. My little tough guy Lennon is in a rough spot right now. I just hope and pray he will be allright!!!

31 Weeks-February 19, 2008

8 weeks to go! I am feeling better but omg so big....The belly bumps into things now and has a mind of its own. Intimacy is interesting if you all know what I mean. Jeez, this belly is big. At times I feel him in my hips...How crazy is that? Well, I have to do insulin with meals now and test my blood before and after meals. I think that is 11 shots/pricks a day with a needle. FUN FUN......Actually, I am really thankful and hopeful this ends when the pregnancy ends and I guess I can take it for 8 more weeks. At least I am not on bedrest, which I could not financially afford............Good luck mommies, especially as we turn this final corner of our pregnancies!!!!

30 Weeks-February 12, 2008

9 Weeks till delivery......woohoo! I am ready to hold this little monster! The GD is not so bad, I guess. I am over the initial shock/fear thing. I am on a carb count diet and insulin. So far only taking insulin 1x a day and hoping not to have to take it with meals. That would be like 10 dates with a needle daily between blood reads and insulin shots.......Keeping my fingers crossed. I tell you, I have a whole new sympathy for diabetics. OMG I feel like I should just move into the doctor's office as much as I go now-Jeez....I am looking forward to no more docs for awhile. On top of everything else, this week I have had an awful virus. Running a daycare is not the most fun in the winter with the kiddies always being sick and giving it to me......I am SOOO ready for Spring.

29 Weeks-February 5, 2008

I am sooo upset. I just found out I have GESTATIONAL DIABETES. Apparently I failed the one-hour test and they told me I don't even need the 3 hour test because my blood sugar was so high. I am really down about this and have so many questions. They told me this by phone and set me up with a dietician and my next doctor appointment is on the 13th. I am so frustrated but I guess this explains the really bad dizzy spells I have been having. I have read some scary stuff online about GD like it causing stillbirths which has me totally freaked out. Last night we went to the C-Section class at the hospital and I met a lady scheduled on the same day as me. She was gorgeous pregnant, and it made me feel like a cow-lol. Some women just look great, I am not one of those people pregnant. It was exciting to see the rooms at the hospital and I found out I will get a massage therapist after the delivery. That was exciting because I thought that was only for people who were in labor. My belly is huge, and now I am curious just how big this guy is going to be. The GD makes babies bigger so it will be interesting......10 WEEKS UNTIL DELIVERY! I am really counting it down now!

27 Weeks- January 22, 2008

Third trimester is here! Wow, it feels like I have been pregnant forever and then again it feels like it has flown by. Last night I dreamed he was going to be 10 lbs at birth, that must be every mom's nightmare-lol! I am really short so he has taken over my entire torso......It's so funny to feel him when I get in certain positions. It's like he's saying "mom, your in my way!". If I bring my knee up at all, he freaks out in the lower part of my uterus.....it is kinda cool, it is like we are communicating. The nursery is done except for the decorations. We think we are going to go with froggys. OMG, I looked on EBAY and they have wonderful deals on brand new 9 piece crib beddings. All kinds. The set we want has gone for as little as $27.50 on up to $80 or so. I am trying to buy it when there aren't many bidders. We were planning on ordering from JcPenney until I looked up crib bedding on EBAY. We were originally looking at close to $400 for everything. Anyway, I am excited. We have had so many people give us things that we already have almost everything we need. Funny how God works things out .....

January 4, 2008

Yesterday was my final ultrasound. They checked all the little guys main organs and he appears to be a healthy! Soooo good to hear that news. I also got my appointment for the birth of the baby in the mail yesterday as well. The baby is set to be delivered April 15 at 10:00 am, arrival at the hospital at 8:00 am. It is all starting to feel so real. They were going to give me 3d ultrasound yesterday but the little guy kept both hands covering his face the whole time. At one point we saw him play with his foot with his hands. So sweet....

24 Weeks-Happy New Year!!!!

Today I officially have started working on the nursery, starting with painting an older dresser to match his room. We have to convert our dining room (which we NEVER used) to be his room. I have an upstairs and want his room downstairs for the daytime when I am running the daycare. At night he will sleep in our room until he is big enough and we are comfortable with him being downstairs while we are upstairs. It is so exciting to get his things ready. It may seem early but I want to get it done before I am too big and uncomfortable. Plus, it will be easier to determine what I need for the baby. 15 weeks until my baby is here, hard to believe!!!!

12/28/07

I had my doctor appointment today. Believe it or not I lost a pound even with all the holiday pigging out.....I really cannot believe it. My belly is HUGE so I thought for sure I had gained at least 3-5 pounds this month. Oh well, I am not complaining. I got to schedule all my remaining appointments and it looks like the baby is going to be scheduled for April 15th. It really makes it all sound so real, like the baby is going to be here so soon! Yay!!

23 Weeks-Merry Christmas!

Boy, have I been irritable......I think pregnancy is really kicking in. I feel huge and awkward and downright old! I guess I should start trying makeup and pedicures to cheer myself up. We had a wonderful Christmas and my sister even got the baby a present! His first present was a soft blankie and some bibs!

22 Weeks-December 19

Last night Daddy finally got to feel the baby kick! Yay! He is sooo excited. He has been jealous for awhile now that I can feel the baby and he can't-lol!

19 1/2 Weeks-November 30

It's a boy! We found out yesterday. Daddy is ecstatic. I am in shock because this is my 6th son-omg! How does that happen to someone? LOL! Well, my teenage boys sure treat me good, so maybe I am lucky to have yet another son.

17 Weeks-November 13

Wow! I really feel pregnant now. Big old Belly and I have to wear maternity clothes. Even my older clothes that were really big on me feel snug even though I technically haven't gained a pound yet. I do love my belly bump. I feel the baby move all the time now, especially last Sunday during the football games. I guess the baby heard all the excitement! My hubby is a bit jealous that he can't feel the baby move yet. Anyone else have a jealous hubby or significant other? I told him he won't be so jealous when I am in labor-lol!

16 Weeks-November 7

3 weeks until we find out what the baby is! I can't wait.....although part of me doesn't want to know. How weird is that???

14 Weeks-October 24

Well, I think I am feeling the baby move.........so exciting!!!!! I keep thinking in less than 6 months I will be holding my baby!!!

13 Weeks-October 16

Yay! 2nd Trimester begins officially tomorrow! I am so happy to be here and still pregnant! We are excited to find out what the baby is. We get to find out November 29th, which seems so far away. I wish I knew now because there is so much baby stuff on clearance when the seasons change plus I absolutely can't wait. I am keeping my fingers crossed for a girl, my husband wants a boy. Either way, one of us is going to be excited.

12 Weeks

Wow, I am feeling soooo much better now-I am 12 weeks and no longer feel sick all the time. Food is this wonderful thing I enjoy again (let's hope not too much!!) and I am not falling asleep by 8 pm every night-lol.

I am feeling a little sad about losing one of my babies, but trying to stay positive about the one. I keep thinking this one is going to grow up without its twin. Anyone else experience that? It is a very mixed emotion. Of course, having had 2 sets of viable twins already, I know how much work they can be too! I am trying to stay positive and trying to imagine just one baby in April. I guess it will have lots of attention!!!

I found out they are going to take this baby c-section about 7-10 days early. The funny thing is that makes the baby's arrival right on our wedding anniversary. While it is romantic and cute, we feel that later we will be trying to juggle the baby's b-day with our anniversary time and that might be hard. We are going to tell the doctor to try to take the baby any day but our anniversary
