30-12-2008 - Ultrasound

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

I had my u/s this morning to make sure baby girl is fine. DH was so pathetic on the phone when I called him and told him they said to come right now (I work about 5 minutes away from the doctor's office and he works about 30). I kept reassuring him that he didn't need to come with me since hopefully I would be in and out quicker than he could even make it there.

Well, it wasn't that quick but it took about an hour. I got the same funky tech I got at one of my first couple of u/s. She wasn't hateful this time but wasn't friendly. I guess she's just not happy with her life which is sad to be in such an amazing field and have such a horrible disposition. Anyways, baby is doing well. Heartbeat is 161 - I got to hear it and it just makes you so happy. :)

She is 5 lbs now! OMG! At this rate she will be 9 lbs at 40 wks. I guess this shouldn't surprise me since my sister and I were both 8 1/2 lbs and I think DH was around 8. The tech asked me if I had hypertension or GD - I said no. This worried me a little but it was when she was measuring baby girl's head and I know from the last u/s that she was measuring big on the head. This has been the joke among my family since my husband has a large head and everyone says they feel sorry for me having his kids. Lol. Anyways, tech said she is averaging at 34 wks. This worried me a bit but after googling and reading it's obvious that third trimester u/s are not very reliable about measurements and even the tech herself said she can be a pound or more off.

So, I am very excited that everything is going so well. Let's hope it keeps up and I have a smooth delivery with no c/s required and that baby girl slows her roll just a little in the weight dept! I say that but all I want is for her to be healthy, no matter how much she weighs or has to come out.
