29-1-2009 - Baby shower - work

My mood while writing this blog:
Ok

So...just got home from my work shower. It was very nice. Two of my coworkers made me the neatest diaper cake (yay...diapers!), I got the wipes warmer I wanted and the bottles I registered for as well as a cute little sun dress a couple of blankets, burp cloths, socks, clippers, nasal aspirator, brush and comb set, medicine dropper, and some other things I am not remembering right now. I also got a $30 & $25 giftcards to Target and one of my good friends that I threw the shower for last year got me a $60 walmart giftcard! I was shocked and amazed when I saw how much that one was. A couple of the people said they would bring mine tomorrow or get me something over the weekend, which I always feel awkward about since it's not like they have to get me anything.

The cupcakes were amazingly delicious! With pink frosting and little baby bottles on them and the punch was the wonderful kind with sherbert in it. They had me open my gifts and then we sat in awkward silence for a while. Lol. It was nice.

I feel bad about bitching about the registry because all of them aologized for not buying off the registry and said they even asked a worker and they said that the stuff on my registry wasn't carried in that store. I did do the registry online but most of the stuff says "also sold in stores", but it's nice to know they went the extra step of asking and were trying to get me what I had registered for.

Then, I had the best luck all day...I was on craigslist and found a woman who lives super close and is selling a pack and play like the one I registered for but didn't get - a square one from Graco. It sells for $90 so I wasn't going to worry about getting it but this woman has it for $30 - looks like new - and she is going to sell me a brand new jumper in the box for $20. Then I found a woman with the baby einstein exersaucer that I also registered for and she only wants $35 for it and it's like $90 or so new. So I am going to try to grab those both up tonight. Hopefully soon someone will have a nice highchair like I want for sell and a couple of the other things so I don't have to pay full price for them. All in all it's been a good day!

I got a surprise shower at work last month. Boy was it a surprise, but it was super sweet. I got LOTS of stuff I really needed.
