30-5-2010 - Update

My mood while writing this blog: Good

Well just a little update. I went to the labor and delivery yesterday like the dr. asked me to. Had to wait an hour and a half just to get in to do the testing. They had a couple people in front of me and I think they were busy delivering babies so they didn't have anyone to do the testing either. But they finally got me all hooked up to the monitors. They measured my contractions, baby's heartbeat, and my blood pressure. My blood pressures definitely weren't good. I officially have gestational hypertension. They did draw blood again however and do my labs and everything looked good there. They also did a quick ultrasound and measured the fluid in my uterus and that was really good. So I have high blood pressure, which means they are going to watch me carefully to be sure it doesn't develop into preeclampsia, but so far me and baby are doing just fine still. They did say though that if I don't go into labor on my own at 39 weeks they'll induce me. If I develop preeclampsia they'll induce me earlier, but so far we're looking at 39 weeks at the latest. Which is not a problem for me. I have to go back at least once a week to get my antepartum testing done again, which is a bit inconvenient, but I don't really have much going on right now so could be worse. And I'll get to heartbeat a lot which I like. It was funny the baby kept hitting the monitors while I was hooked up. She was not a fan. Well hope you ladies are doing well.

Wow 5 weeks til you meet your baby you must be so excited! I was induced at 39 weeks coz i had gestational diabetes, it is so exciting when you know the day your going to meet your baby - leaving home to go the hospital knowing the next time you come home you will have your long awaited baby in your arms...its the most amazing feeling in the world hun so stay positive through all the hospital checks & blood withdrawals - i was up at the hospital every week from 28 wks so i know how down hearted it can make you feel but try and stay positive and take whatever happens in your stride. I am honestly so excited for you hun - you probably dont remember now but you where the first person i became friends with on here because we where due to have our babies around the same time - my little girl is 5mths old now, the time has absolutely flew and i craved once i had given birth to her to beable to feel her moving inside me again where i knew she was safe, so enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy because believe me hun it will fly by. Love jojo xxx

aww im sorry to hear that your blood pressure is up, hopefully it wont continue to go up....You dont have too much more time before you will be a Mommie! Congrats!
