21-2-2009 - Pregnancy announcement - Baby Stephen ExcitedMy mood while writing this blog:
Excited

I just love hearing about pregnancy announcements! I also dreamed of how I would tell my DH and family, friends that I was pregnant. Dec of 2006, I found that I was pregnant and got excited because I could use Christmas theme to announce the pregnancy! That day, my DH was over at his mom's to help her out with some chores. I kept checking online for ideas and came up with christmas ornament idea. I already had some ceramic ornaments that you paint. I searched for a cute teddy bear and painted the outfit on that bear a baby blue and pink. I wrote across on the teddy bear "new daddy", and after it was dry I hung it on our tree. I waited and waited all day for DH to come home. I couldn't stand it and texted him that I was bored and wanted him home (this is not something we usually do, to text each other to come home). Ofc, DH was puzzled why I did that, but that did not make him come home sooner. He was finally home around 10 at night, and I had been waiting since 11 am that day. I almost could not hold back my excitement. I kept waiting to see if he noticed the ornament on the tree which was in plain sight. He didn't, (men!). He started talking about how we need to gather up his nieces' gifts to drop off at his mom before we headed over to my mom's for christmas. I told him to go ahead to get the gifts from under the tree and set it up by front door so we won't forget. He did that and still did not notice the ornament! I finally told him that I painted one of the ceramic ornament and to check it out. He went to the tree and looked around and finally noticed the teddy bear ornament and said "aww how cute! Pretty teddy bear". I was thinking "gosh!! notice already will you??". Then I finally saw him mouth the words "new daddy" and he looked puzzled at that then 2 seconds later, ding! He looked over at me and said "seriously??" I got teary at that and nodded. DH was so thrilled! We immediately started discussing how we would announce to our family. With my mom, we did a picture of the pregnancy tests, with my brother, sis and nieces we did a crossword puzzle with a hidden message of "you're going to be a new aunt/uncle/cousin" With DH's family, I had this t shirt I ordered finally come in that said "Jingle bells! Jingle bells! Baby's on the way!" With my friends, we had a dinner few days after chrismtas and I said "guess what my hubby got me for christmas?" One of my friend jokingly said "a baby?". I got teary eyed and said yes.
