21-2-2009 - Pregnancy announcement - New baby

Pregnancy announcement for this baby coming in june. I was getting ready to pack up camping equipment early in the week to get ready for the coming weekend for our friends annual halloween camping weekend. I was having hot flashes for a couple of days and was going through that again. I stopped myself and started to wonder if I was pregnant ( I suspected I was the previous month because AF was 5 days late, but got BFN). I didn't want to be carrying all the heavy camping stuff if I was pregnant but had a feeling I wasn't. I tested anyway and was pleasantly surprised to see that I was! I took my DS out shopping to look for those "big brother" shirts. I was disappointed to see they didn't have any of those in my DS's size. He was almsot 15 months old at that time. Nothing below 2T said big brother, but it said little brother. So I went ahead and bought a 2T shirt which looks like a oversized shirt that he could wear as pajamas. I had DS wear that shirt when my DH was due home from work. Again, so clueless! I kept waiting and waiting for him to notice. Then my DH eyes lit up and looked at me! I just smiled and looked at him. Then DH said " he learned a new word!" (we had been teaching DS sign language and DS had picked up a word that day). I tried hard not to let on that I was deflated at that. I said "yes, he did learn that new sign today ". Then few minutes later, I noticed he was trying to read the shirt and gasped, looked at me and said "seriously??" Haha! We waited longer this time to announce the pregnancy to family and friends because of all the miscarriage stories we have been hearing about and also one of our friend went through that about a year before. I was about 11 weeks when I announced to family and friends (some through picture of DS wearing that shirt), and some by me talking about getting this personalized christmas ornament from the mall with a family of snowmen and it said "daddy, mommy, stephen, and new baby".
