26-8-2009 - BH Contractions

My mood while writing this blog: Ok

Ok so I have had a really great pregnancy not really any issues however last night around 6 I went to the potty and there was blood not sure if it was in my urine or vaginal vault as the DRs call it than around 2am I passed a blood clot and started getting contractions which I had 5 in 45 min So my Dr said go to the L&D unit in your town which my OB is 45 min away so I went to the hospital not knowing we had 2 so I was admitted to the ER they tested my urine and said it was possitive for blood but no sign of an infection which I thought the blood was from a UTI so they than sent me to labor and delivery I got there and they hooked me up monitord contractions and her Heart rate. NO MORE CONTRACTIONS how convienent huh? Well they tested my urine again and no sign of blood! They monitored me for 30min to make sure she was fine and perfect little heartbeat of 155 they sent me home and now I had to call my Dr to let him know everything and now im waiting on a call back.. will update you ladies later! UPDATE! MY Dr called me and said no sex for 3-4 days! Watch my urine and if the contractions keep coming to come in tom so he can check me! So nothing to much to worry about he said!

I have a friend that had something like that when she was pregnant, scared her to death! They said it was a paulup, not sure if I spelled that correctly, but I guess we get these masses of blood and in some women they break. Most women never know they have them but it is normal and just part of our body. Just make sure you drink tons of water!!!! Blood in your urine without an infection usually means your not drinking enough water. Take it easy and let us know how it goes!! Glad to hear you and your baby are okay!!

The first blood in your urine could have been from the bleeding you had noticed. Sometimes even when a woman cleans down there some can be retained in the urethra and show up in the urine. Then as you flush it out it goes away. So it probably never was in your bladder. But how scary, I don't know I would have stopped crying until they said I was fine! Did they do an ultrasound at all? Just curious. I spotted a teensy bit last week and I was a mess! But I had to work, so I did that, and it was gone an hour into my shift and hasn't returned.

It happened to me a few wks ago too and nothing came up in the urine or culture, thank the Lord. Did they do a sono to see the placenta? I hope you get the answers and everything is ok. Take care and keep us posted.

Make sure you stay hydrated, I live in NW AZ and it gets 100 degrees here.... anyway the doctors said a lot of mommies go into pre-term labor around this time of year because of dehydration. This may be TMI but having sex can cause you to bleed a little too vaginally because your cervix is blood rich
