| 27-6-2008 - I'm back -- slightly! | My mood while writing this blog:Everything at once!!! |
Wow! It has been waaay too long...
So much has been happening!! I barely have the energy (emotionally AND physically!) to live it, let alone write about it!!
First of all - I am a grandma (most of you know that!) and it is a surreal, amazing, wonder-ful thing!!! It would take forever to speak of all it's glories... right now I just have to say that she, Wylhemina Rhys, is marvelous and perfect and healthy!! I am so content with her. I could just sit and hold her and we stare at each for hours!!! I tell her about God and about my love for her, but mostly we just stare... I will try to post some pictures SOON!
And they are leaving. They are off (possibly today!) for Texas for 4 months for C's Encription school. I am so proud of both of them. They have had a VERY busy year and accomplished so much - with the grad of the Russian language school and the baby... I'm excited for them to get on with their lives and anxious for their travel (and all the arrangements!!) and sad for me... I think that is partly why God so kindly gave me this little boy -- to fill my arms as they empty...
Ty's room is getting done, tiny bit by tiny bit. I found the most perfect dresser that we can use as a changing table too on Craigslist with a darling little matching nightstand, solid wood with a "Wonder Years" feel (retro boy stuff), for only $150! That was the price for the rickety changing table we liked at BabiesRUs!! And the shabby, warpy dressers they sold were $500!! Hubby is going to polish 'em up tomorrow (in his wonderfully meticulously way) and we will move them in! Then I get to start the laundry and sorting!! YIPEE!!! Who doesn't LOVE the smell of Dreft, I ask you!!! :)
And Ty is still breech, the little twirp! We have a few more weeks, but I get anxious when I think about all the work I've been putting into preparing for labor and the possibility of a very much unwanted C-section. (But boy, did my DIL bounce back after hers!! She was amazing!!) I need to be still...and remind myself that I, my baby, and all our circumstances are truly in God's good care! I am having to keep my balance between preparing myself and trusting Him for the details that I can't control...
My sugar tests(tortures!) came back "normal"! That was a HUGE happy answer to my prayer-begging! (I believe He ALWAYS answers prayer - just some answers are sweeter to my taste than others. We Christians have a tendency to say He answers prayer when it is the answer we want; why is that??)
My sisters have the Baby Shower planning in full swing. July 19th, 2:00 for a tea. Just perfect I think. I did NOT think THIS is what I would be doing this summer!! :) We registered at BabiesRUs to try to keep it simple. I do not like (as in get really grumpy!) when there is too much STUFF around! I am a minimalist at heart, even though Tom doesn't believe me! But it is hard to be when you love to have projects going - sewing and gardening and so forth... My dream world would have a garden shed - all organized and adorable with potting benches and shelves and bins of soils (oh! And a wine cellar thing for filed seeds! AND A GREENHOUSE!) and a sewing room with shelves and racks in closets! Sigh. Heaven... :)
I need to have my "peacetime" now, so I will go.
I think about you ladies so often! I talk about you as if we are quite friends, which I believe we are. And I pray for you, each one...
Blessings, SueAnn (a/k/a Gran'ma!!)
