My mood while writing this blog: Frustrated |
OK- I had my 2nd Dr appt yesterday. I was excited. I wanted some reassurance that everything was still going well. I have no symptoms of things not being well, but I have been done that road before. So I was hoping we would get to hear the heartbeat using the doppler (I knew I was not getting a u/s duringthis visit, that is why I hope he would have tried the doppler) since I am 10 + weeks. Anyways, The nurse called me back, did my weight (gained 3 lbs so far), blood pressue, had to pee in a cup and asked how I was feeling. Blah, Blah, Blah. I was left waiting for the Dr. Doc comes in and askes me know I am feeling, did I have any questions all that fun stuff. Tells me the blood test result that I called and got ove the phone a few weeks ago. He handed me some papers about some tests they want me to do in a few weeks and said that is all they had for me today. I asked about hearing the heartbeat. He said it was to early. We can do that next time and left. I am soo frustrated. I dont know any more than when I walked into that office. I am still scared something might go wrong. I just wanted to hear the heartbeat to make me feel better. Is it too early? Am I just being a worry wort. I dont want to wait 4 more weeks to get any new news. Stupid Doctor!

Monday, 29 Sep I also just had an appointment at 10 weeks and was hoping that they would use the doppler because I knew we didnt get an ultrasound. I had the same worries as you - we knew my blood was fine and I was ok - but how did we know anything about the baby! The doctor told me that she doesnt do them (doppler) this early because a lot of times the uterus and baby are still below the pelvis and the doppler cannot pick up the heartbeat and so then it makes the girls worry more than they did before. I have heard of some girls who go and they do try and then they cant hear it - that would be hard to ignore - if you had a dopple done and they didnt find the heart beat. Best is to assume all is well. Thats what I have had to do! Best wishes! *First*Time*Mommy* -

Sunday, 28 Sep Dear sweetie!.............when we went at 10 weeks...they told us the same thing........................I was just as worried as you!!..........I still am most of the time( I think this will carry on until we pass our 20th week stage).......But then we had a scan at 11 weeks and that showed our blessings heart beatiing away..........Maybe you should let your doc know how worryed you are and that you really need to know....if your blessing is well ! ............maybe if they could give you a scan.....................
let me know how things go

Friday, 26 Sep I cant believe that they still didnt do a transvaginal ultrasound on you. I just had my second one today and if you read my blog you will see why. He was wrong about hearing it b/c they can hear it at 10 wks. He just wanted to be lazy. Hey I liked what I heard about the angel dobbler. Only one I knew about that I plan on ordering is HI BEBE dobbler. Its 115 dollars but you hear the HB at 10 wks and it has a LCD screen that tells you how many bpm is the babys and how many bpm is yours. I love it and I want it. Infact its better then the one at the dr's. not to mention you can always resale it or better yet rent it out and make money if you plan on having another. Im sure 115 dollars is worth it b/c im sure it would be used every day, lol. Im sorry the dr was being such a dork. but im sure if you went the ER for anything that may not feeling right. they would def do one in a heartbeat. I would even say to my dr, Im having a lot of pains and i need to know my baby is ok. I know its sneaky but its only right that they let you see that precious baby of yours. keep me posted on what you do though, Im in the process of trying to find out if i got a kidney stone. i hope i find out when I go to the ER when I get off work- im hurting so bad but im doped up on tylenol #3 the dr prescribed. so just read my blog if you want more details. Friday, 26 Sep well no worries i have a solutions! ebay 'angel sounds fetal doppler' mine cost about 40$ but trust me, its worth every single penny, u can hear the heartbeat at 12wks, which will be right around the time u get it, and u can use it wheneva and not have to worry about waiting for dr visits....if u do decide to get it (which u should really do, mine has been a lifesaver) make sure u buy some aloe gel to use as lube, the package says w/ or w/out gel it can be used, but i found that w/out gel u cant hear anything (not even at 31wks...) plus aloe doesnt stain like baby oil can....good luck and no stress!
