26-11-2008 - updates-20 weeks/4th dr appt.

Well, I have not wrote an update in awhile. Things are going crazy around here. I have been in the hospital for the last 2 weeks. I had another bout of MRSA in my lungs, a calapased lung and pnemunia. MRSA is a staph infection that does not respond to most medicine. As a result, the Doctors had to give me some heavy medicine to try to get rid of the MRSA and to help me breath. Most of you know that I had a m/c early this year and had a bout of MRSA before finding out I was pregnant. The Dr. did not know if the medicine the first time was a factor in the m/c or not. Anyways-Here I am almost 20 weeks and and having the same problems. This time around I did not respond to the medicine and they had to give me more medicine and stronger medicine. Doctors have told me that if I have another bout of this they do not know if I will make it thru it or not. My body is taking longer to turn around and they are running out of medicine to use to treat the MRSA. I did get to hear the heartbeat while at the hospital. It was 164. I am happy about that. I have went to the Dr since then. The doctor did some blood work and the results are not that good. The results came back 1 in 41 that my baby had trisomy 18. I have to go on Monday for an u/s and to talk to a special Dr. Also, My 20 week u/s is schdeuled for Tuesday. The father has not really talked to me much about the results. I am scared. I am alone and dont know what to do. i will update next week. Please send me your prayers. I really need them right now. Sorry this is a real quick update. I will explain more later.

oh my hun. You are in my prayers and I know what MRSA can do to a person as just about everyone in my family and my husbands family has MRSA and I know some other people with it to. MRSA is really scary and I fear everyday of it. I will pray that everything turns for the better real quick and that you and your baby make it through this. Please keep me posted.
