| 22-6-2009 - Birth story of Baby Chris | My mood while writing this blog:Happy |
Well Ladies I have been trying to update for such a long time, but just haven't had the time. I had been having contractions for the week before. Nothing serious just on and off. They on Friday morning, April 17th, I went to use the restroom and I thought I had passed my mucus plug. I have never done this before So I was not sure if it was or not. I told myself I would wait and see what happens. Later that night My daughter was in a softball game and my contractions had reached every nine minutes. I still went to the game. I could not miss her first game of the season. When I got home, the contractions were that same so I wentto bed. I woke up at 4:30 am having to use the restroom again. Once I was trying to get out of bed I had a contraction. I remeber look at the clock on the T.V. so I could time them. I went to the restroom and I was bleeding. I went back to bed and called my mother trying to decide if I was going to the hospital or not. Then I had a other contraction this time they were coming every 2-3 minutes. I called the Dr and of course they told me to go. once at the hospital I was put in the overstaion unit for about 45 mins before being tranmitted to L&D. Right before they moved me to L&D I asked for some pain medcine. I was having contraction every 2-3 minutes and was dilated to 3. It was not until then that they told me that I could not have any pain medicince at all. I freaked out. i would have to have this baby 100% natural. Sure I had baby before but never natural. I wanted DRUGS. They explained that since I was soo sick in Feb. and Nov last year they did not want to chance given me another infection. I asked if they could give me something in my IV or by mouth and they said no. NOTHING. Once in L&D I remember telling the poor nurse that I could not do this and pleading for a c-section. Of course they would not give me one. I would not let the poor nurse leave out the room. My husband was there but he seamed soo disinterested that I waned the nurse in the room more than him. Everytime the nurse left the room I could not wait for her to come back. All the nurse would tell me is that the baby is in disstress and that I had to lay on my side. I would try to lay on my side, but it was soo uncomfortable. I wanted to push, but they kept telling me not to I was not ready. Finally a resident came in and I remember him telling me I was dialated to 9cm. The next thing I remember is him looking at the monitors and telling me to push. So I pushed. They did not prep the room. I delivered with the doctor sitting on the end of my bed and me half way on my side. Once it was over, I had a beautiful son. I was so tired I could not even look to see if my baby was a boy or girl. The nurses and Drs would not tell me. I had to wait on husband to tell me. I delivered on April 18th at 11:32 am. A beautiful baby boy named Christopher Ormond. He weighed 8 lbs 3 oz and has 20" long.
I did not know that his umblical cord was around his neck until we went to the Dr the next week. This is what was causing the disstress. I still have some health concrens about Baby Chris, but we go back to the Dr this week. So I will update about those after the next Dr appt. Sorry for all the errors in this blog. I am at work and I did not have much time, but really wanted to update.
