16-1-2010 - preparing for baby

My mood while writing this blog: ok

Hi everyone. i am nearly 25 weeks pregnant and i havent bought a single thing for the arrival of our son yet! is that bad?? After having a late m/c last April i dont want to jynx myself and buy anything just yet. ( i suppose there is still plenty of time anyway!) I know lots of women who are 25 weeks too and have everything you need from being 12 weeks preggo lol. I dont really need a great deal anyway as i have a cot, crib, bath etc from my son being a baby and only really need new matresses for them. I only really need a new pushchair and bottle sterilizer etc (stuff i couldnt really keep) Thing is i dont feel the need just yet! when i had my first baby (my daughter) i had everything at 12 weeks and also with my son, but this time is so different. I dont know if its because its my 3rd baby and i know there is no rush yet or because of my loss. I hope i get that excited feeling soon and be able to start to buy stuff. Some people cant actually believe that i havent bought a single thing yet! not even a pack of vests! I think that time will come when i start my maternity leave from work, well i hope anyway. And it will give me something to do when the kids are at school. x x

No, that's not bad :) You do what works for you. Besides as you say, you have most you need. I started buying things as soon as I knew the gender and I found it very therapeutic. It helped me believe that I was truly believing this would be okay this time. But again, whatever works for you. xox Karin

I know how you feel about not wanting to jinx things. ou buy stuff as and when you're ready, there's no rush.....you still have another 15 (ish!) weeks left yet. Like you say, you can do all that stuff when you start your maternity leave. I kinda wish i'd done that cos i'm bored out of my brain now, everything is done & ready and i'm sat waiting ......and waiting and waiting. My due date is Monday & there is no sign of the lil bugger yet!! Glad everything is going well for you xx
