| 22-4-2008 - Pregnancy update 22 April | My mood while writing this blog:VERY tired |
Well im 26 weeks pregnant this week and so pleased ive made it this far. Been getting more and more painful braxton hicks contractions - after researching it on the net it seems that they CAN hurt after all, which is normal for some women and therefore not a worry. Seems to be all down in the timing as contractions are frequent whereas BH can come and go. Am becoming a bit of a clock watcher to reassure myself im not having an early arrival.....the midwife said to call the labour ward if im worried. Im just resting and drinking lots of juice.
My appointment with her last week was great. The baby was kicking like crazy (had drank a huge glass of OJ before hand) and you could hear it moving about and kicking on the mic when she was listening to its heartbeat.
Am pleased we decided not to find out the sex of the baby as it makes the labour more exciting(!) and will give me something to aim for when im in agony pushing....lol.
Have been really tired the last few days - have hardly any energy at all. Im increasing my fresh fruit and veg in my diet, and am due a blood test next week so will find out in my next midwife appt (first week of may) if there is a problem with my iron levels. Im also back at the hospital mid may to see my specialist and will get another internal scan to see what is happening in incompetant cervix department. If you remember last time my funnelling had reversed to normal, and the cervix had lengthened to a more 'normal' range - which was great. Obviously the heavier the baby is - the more stress put on my stitch. Ive had quite a few twinges in my cervix recently which were more painful than usual- however after running to the loo I always find everything is fine and no sign of blood so fingers crossed (sorry if TMI)
Its my birthday on Saturday (I love the fact im 26 weeks pregnant on 26th April....lol) so we are keeping it low key due to my lack of energy. OH is working during the day so we will probably go to a local restaurant so it will save me cooking. I always struggle on what to order drink wise when we go out as sodas still give me bad colic, and water can be so bland. Its times like this I miss a glass of cool crisp white wine *sigh*.
