09-2-2009 - glucose test

My mood while writing this blog: sleepy

so i went in for my glucose test today and my regular dr visit. everything was going fine..they took my blood and then weighed me and all that (i gained 7lbs since last time!) and i talked to the dr about my back pain and he told me to try a chiropractor (sp?) and that i prob have a compressed nerve from a previous car wreck and the pregnancy is irratating it..so thats always nice. i noticed when i was laying down so we could listen to the heartbeat that i was suddenly starting to feel really hot but i thought that once i sat up i would feel better. so the dr finishes up and i get up to leave and im still not feeling better but i figure once i get outside or something i would be fine so i make my way to the check out desk and my vision starts going black. next thing i know the receptionist is running around the desk with her chair to catch me in and people are yelling for a nurse..so then i had a crowd of nurses and receptionists around me with wet rags trying to cool me down. they ended up wheeling me into a room and making me lay down and drink water and eat crackers..apparently since i had taken that glucose drink and not had anything to eat my blood sugar dropped and thats what was wrong. they said it was very common. but still i could not help but feel embarrassed lol. so that was my eventful appt. and now im exhausted and ready for a nap!
