24-4-2009 - 37 week appt

My mood while writing this blog: happy

yesterday was my 37 week appt. and i finally got my cervix checked! Before my dr had said there was no reason to do one cuz i was planning on going into labor naturally (which made no sense to me) so i was gonna ask them to do it anyway at this appt. but my dr just so happened to be on vacation and the nurse practitioner i saw volunteered to check me before i asked. OMG it hurt! i normally have a high pain threshold but that hurt like nobodys buisness! But on the up side she said im dialated 1 to 2 cent. 75% effaced, and a -2 station. all this time i thought my little guy was laying sideways and he has been head down and engaged! i was so excited to find out that at least something was progressing down there lol. She said i might spot afterwards which i didnt but i did have contractions the rest of the day. and then was woken up in the middle of the night with some really bad ones and was sick all of a sudden with diahrea. the contractions got to about 8 minutes apart but then started spacing out.. and all of this in eighty degree house cuz my cheap husband wouldnt turn the air on! (it is on now btw) lol. But now today nothing is happening..no contractions..nothing :( i also watched a vaginal birth video that scared the crap outta me today..and made me question whether or not i can do this w/out pain meds which was my plan..i wont beat myself up if i cant do it, but i really really want to. i guess we will just have to see how it goes :)
