18-9-2008 - stung by a wasp

My mood while writing this blog:
worried

So really early this morning I was watching TV and a wasp came up and stung me on my hand! before the lil punk stung me i took a tylenol allergy because i have had horrible allergies. I got stung hours ago and it still hurts a little bit. should i be concerned? im worried that it will affect my baby? does anyone know or had this happen too them? please let me know thanks.

totally off the subject..your allergies are kicking your ass too?!?! Me as well...Yesterday I was sneezing all day and stuff and today Ive been nauseous all day. I think all the fluid is in my tummy...This sucks...I had to drive to school today and had that "m/s" feeling .....Ugghhhhh can fall just come already!!!!!!!

no it won't hurt the baby. Your baby is in your uterus and protected from attacks like this. If you were going to have a really bad reaction to it (anaphylactic) - like throat swelling and difficulty breathing- then both of you would be in danger. But if you were going to have an anaphylactic reaction then it happens immediately. Continue to take antihistamines for your comfort. Check to see if the medication is safe for your baby- www.safefetus.com. Its safet to take benadryl during pregnancy- which will work the quickest to bring down the swelling. You can also ice it or apply the baking soda combo that 'expectingmyfirstinmarch' suggested. I hope this helps!

I wouldn't worry too much unless you start to hjave a really severe reaction. I don't think the wasp can hurt the baby but if you were allergic and went into shock (which is unlikely bc it would have happened already) then you may have something to worry about. But my guess is your baby is A-ok and your hand won't hurt too long.

put baking soda and water on it.....it happened to me on my foot in the summer.....as soon as i did that, the pain and swelling went away....good luck

i have no clue :( just call your doctor if it gets bad....i dont think it will effect the baby though unless you have a sudeen reaction to it...good luck babe
