09-3-2009 - precious baby

Hallo ladies, I made it. I gave birth to ababy girl on last wednesday. She is gorgeous!

On monday i went to my midwife praying that she would tell me that i ws in labour, no such luck but she did agree that it would be a good idea to induce because she was afraid that my baby would get to big and i was all for that idea.

And so i got going, suddenly everything felt wrong and unfinished. The nursary suddenly looked all wrong and the house would never be clean enough to bring my precious baby home to... nothing was too good for my little princess.

Wednesday morning broke and i hardly slept, excited and nervous, so many emotions. I got to the hospital and they checked all the vitals and i had an enama ( really weird feeling). My midwife came in and was surprised to see that i was already having contractions 5 min apart... Yeay the process has begun on its own. She did the internal, which BTW is really not funny, the more you dialate the worse it gets. She inserted the gel and it was surprising. I went on the walking route and started geting slight cramps. Now just so you know, I had really bad period pains so this seemed to be a breeze. She did another internal and what do you know, i am 5cm dialated. SHe broke my water and what a gush. My midwife started getting worried when i was still smilling and chating away at 7 cm. All of a sudden, labour started and hell it was sore. I had some pethadine, what a trip. Conbined with gas - heaven. she also gave me a conbination of something she referes to as "white mans magic". A few min later I was 10 cm. By then i was in the bath and it really was good. alot happen in between but i don't have enough time to write about it all.

I pushed and pushed and pushes, crazy but soon my midwife told me to push between contractions and then to breathe. I ended up breather my baby out. I took her out myself and my husband cut the cord.

She is beautiful! ladies it t=is a great experiance and i would always recommend a natural birth. It is truely and empowering event. If you have questions please ask and i will tell you what my experiance was.

Ah, your birth story is amazing! I hope mine also works out that good.
Who was your midwife? Which hospital did you go too? How much did your princess weigh? You must paste some pics!!!

Wow! You rock!! I am SOOOO impressed by your birth experience :-) You are so blessed that it went so well and that you were able to follow through on a natural birth. I'd love to hear all the missing details if YOU EVER FIND THE TIME to come back and write more about it. Ha,ha you'll be SO busy and SO tired I bet :-)
What was her weight???
My boy on today's sono is already 8lb and 5oz.....hope he won't be a giant by the time he is born, ha,ha! I am making NO PROGRESS as of my last visit on thurs...still only 70% and 1cm. But that's fine, I still have a week till my due date anyhow so not in a rush.
