09-10-2008 - 34wk check up

My mood while writing this blog: ok

well no big news this week. no u/s- so i'm not sure if there has been any change to my cervix. hb was great and lil man is still moving a lot and growing. no weight gain this week either, thank goodness. after those 4lbs last week i was really frightened! basically, if i don't go into labor, the plan is to just stay on bedrest and on the procardia until my 36wk check up- which is acutally at 35wks 5days- october 22nd. since i was concerned i would go into labor as soon as i stopped the meds, i asked her about the cramping/contracting when i missed one of my pills. she basically said there was no way to know for sure. some women have bad cramping/contracting for a few hours after coming of them meds and then they go away and others go right into labor. so we will just have to wait and see i guess.

i am hoping i get a few days extra since we are planning on having my mother in law watch out 2yr old that following friday- so we can have on last night on our own before the chaos begins lol. i will get checked for strep b and for any dialation at that same appt on the 22nd. so if i can make it through 13 more days- i will be free!!!! yea!!!! am so excited!

having lots and lots of pains and pressure. sometimes it makes it a bit difficult to move. and i am convinced my hips are just going to crack in half one of these days! but i guess it's all just a reminder that he's still in there and kicking away! i can't believe it's getting so close. i am sneaking out of the house next week to go get the last few things we need. believe it or not, we have not had to buy one single item for him yet because we had so much from brenna and so much given to us by friends/family. we are going to get the double stroller we want, some more bottles to go w/ the breast pump, a new diaper bag (cause i didn't think it would be right to start our boys life out w/ a hot pink disney princess bag that we are currently using for brenna lol), and a few odds and ends like sock and pacifiers. i am hoping we can get the majority of the shopping done in a couple of hours so i'm not cheating on my bedrest too much.

but things are great. just impatiently waiting for the next few weeks to pass.
