Nathan and I have been carelessly searching for our 1st home for a few weeks now. We would drive around neighborhoods we liked and would call a few agents to come show us the place but nothing really caught our attention. Yesterday, we went to breakfast at his mom's house (like we do every Sunday) and afterwards, decided to ride around the area and scope out the houses. We found this one place that looked nice from the outside and had a fenced in backyard (a must with two 6mth old pittbulls!!) We noticed the house was empty so we looked around back. It was a nice yard with a kids swingset and a nice deck!! So far so good!! We called the agent and about died when we saw in the house! The people living there before worked hard to expand the house and keep it looking great! It had partial hardwood floors (which I love) a nice open layout, 4 bedrooms (one for our baby now, one for our baby later and one for my parents when they stay in town!!) and the owners had added a master bedroom suite with a HUGE master bathroom. It has a hottub-tub!!! I was just thinking, "Oh my God, could this be any better??" Not to mention the owners had come down nearly 45 thousand dollars from thier original asking price and were willing to pay 2,500 for closing cost. So we decide to put an offer in yesterday. We offered what the seller was asking for the price of the house, plus we asked the seller to pay all closing cost, about 7,500. Well, we get a call from the agent last night and she tells us that somone else has put in an offer as well. She wanted to know if we wanted to change anything with the offer and she suggested we drop the closing cost. Nathan and I really havent saved any money because we didn't expect to find a house this soon so we can't afford the entire closing cost. After crying my eyes out for an hour, we decided not to change the offer. We waited and prayed and waited and prayed and waited ALL day today for any news. I finally got a call from the agent and she tells me that our offer and the other offer were exactly the same and because our offer went in first, the owners decided to take ours!!!! YES WE HAVE BOUGHT OUR FIRST HOME!!!! Oh my gosh!!!! The owner did counter and only offered 5,000 in closing but were wer like YES YES YES!! We love this house so much and I would have been so heart broken if we couldn't get it!!! I'm SOOOOOO Happy!!!!!! Weeeeheeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!
