| 19-12-2011 - 16 Weeks & Counting | My mood while writing this blog:bored |
16 weeks and 1 day as of right now! Yay! A couple new things have happened since my last blog. The major thing is I'm feeling kicks!!! I felt something last week while at work that felt like flutters/fast moving bird wings hitting me from the inside, but it was very faint. I was pre-occupied at the time and I just got done eatting so I didnt know if it was the baby or my digestive system. But nothing happened after that. Then a few days later also while at work, I was busy and had my mind on other things when I felt a little jab...I stopped what I was doing, sat back and waiting to see if it would happen again - it didn't. Again, I didnt know if it was the baby or what it was but I was starting to believe that it was indeed the baby. My husband and I went to a christmas party this weekend and I was sitting in a rocking chair when I felt a little jab again...and again...and again...in the same spot I felt a little kick/jab 3-4 times. I nudged my husband and said, "I think Im being kicked right now!" it was pretty neat! This morning after my alarm went off for work, I felt something similar to the flutters I felt last week but this time I would explain it as a "cat fight". The baby must have flipped over or tumbled or something....it was strange but made me laugh! As today has progressed, I've continued to feel nudges, kicks and jabs...but they are very faint.
The other interesting thing that has happened was hearing a strange heartbeat. 2-3 days ago I was using my personal doppler at home and I found the heartbeat very easilly as always and sounded like a galloping horse. It was right around 153-155. After listening to it for a few moments, I moved the probe to the left to see if I could also get the HB from a different angle. That's when the HB changed to 147-149 and was clear as can be, no galloping sounds, just the whooshing-wind noise. I then moved the probe back to the first position and the noise changed back to the galloping noise and went back up to 152. My HB is always around 80bpm so I KNOW this wasn't my HB. When Im using my doppler the heart rate changes/fluctuates constantly, it's never the same number for too long. I'm pretty convinced that the galloping sound is just an echo and there isn't a 2nd baby in there...but part of me can't help but wonder. I will use the doppler again (probably not tonight) and see if I can re-create the sounds. God I HOPE there isn't TWO in there!
Another fun thing that happened was people at work finding out. Im 'friends' with some co-workers on FB and when I posted my announcement they all commented and said congrats and stuff but no on said anything at the office. So the others who dont check FB often, or at all, still didnt know. Seeing that Im showing now, come to find out, people were talking about me to others asking if I was pregnant (the majority of the people I work with are guys), no one would actually ask me, but that's not a big surprise. One day a guy two offices down from me must have went on FB casue he and another co-worker started talking about my photo. They never said my name but I could TELL they were talking about me. When they were done discussing the matter, I got up and walked into his office and said, "I can hear you ya know". He started laughing!! It was quite comical! So now my department pretty much knows except my supervisor and project manager. Im meeting with my supervisor tomorrow to discuss next year's plan for me so I will bring it up to him then. My project manager still doesnt know and I probably WONT tell him, I'll let him figure it out on his own. He's an older dude that will just make stupid comments and stress out over the projects Im on, so it's better that he doesnt know for right now. As soon as he really LOOKS at me from my side, he'll know!
I really popped this weekend - this morning I looked in the mirror and was like, "Holy shit!" I'm scheduled to get my 16 week bloodwork done tomorrow morning. Then my next OB appointment is next Wednesday. I should know when my BIG ultrasound day will be after that appointment - SO EXCITED!
The last big thing that has happened lately is my husband came up with a BOY name this weekend! I was SO proud of him! He has wanted a boy named after him since before he and I met....but he has the same name as his dad and (long story short) I just can't deal with another "John". But he came up with a boy name option all by himself and I actually like it!
