| 14-3-2009 - MY HORRIFIC SURGERY | My mood while writing this blog:kinda sad but better than yesterday |
At about 5pm on thursday evening it was discovered through ultrasound that i was having a contraction. This was really odd to me because i felt nothing. So the nurse performing the ultrasound also realized that my cervix was only 12 mm unlike the 33mm it is suppose to be. She then called the doctor in and i cried and cried out of nervousness that i would lose my little girl (my nooja- short for pooja nooja) the doctor came in and examined me and told me that i would need to go straight to labor and delivery. That of course made me cry more cuz that automatically makes me think I have to deliver her and im only 17 weeks! Then another doctor explained that i could either have a cerclage which would be a stiching in my cervix so that i would not start to dialate and go into preterm labor. I also had the option of taking prometrium which would stop contractions so that i wouldn't start to dialate. I decided to go with the surgery and i was admitted into labor and delivery for the rest of the night. I was not suppose to eat 8 hours before the surgery which stopped all eating activity at midnight. I was stuck with an IV which I REALLY HATE they really hurt and they also drew blood from me.So finally the next day after 15 hours of not eating I was pulled in to get the surgery. They then pricked me in the back 3 times trying to find the right spot so they could inject the numbing medicine in me WHICH WAS HORRIBLE and i cried of pain which made me realize i dont wanna epideral!! So they numbed me and didn't put me to sleep. I then felt pressure as they opened my vagina and looked in only to realize that my cervix would not be able to be stitched because there was not enough cervix on my lower half so they stopped the surgery and took me back to my room and explained that the only other thing i could do is take the prometrium to stop the contractions. THIS WAS A HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE but im going to get a second opinion.
