12-23-2011 - First OB appointment

We went in today for our first appointment, knew that if I was at least 8 wks (there is a chance I could be closer to 7 wks) then I would be able to get an ultrasound in the office and see the baby. We were barely see the sac since it looks like I'm not quite 8 wks. From what my OB said the sac looks good and my cervix is closed and uterus is growing like normal. I have an ultrasound scheduled for next Wednesday for dating and should get to get some pictures then. Next OB appointment is in a little over 4 wks on Jan. 23, 2012.

12-28-2011 - First Ultrasound

I went in today for my ultrasound and the baby looked good and was measuring 1 cm crown to rump. The heart was just beating away in the 140's too. Since the ultrasound person had a student with her I got a 3D picture of baby too and have never gotten a 3D picture of the baby this early. My due date has been moved back to Aug. 14 so that means that I got a positive pregnancy test at 3 wks 2 days.

01/08/2012 - Heard baby's Heartbeat :)

I've had a doppler since I was pregnant with Aydan and with Austyn I was able to hear his heartbeat at 8wks and I think that is because he had an anterior placenta and this one I asked the placenta placement and its posterior. I have been trying to hear this baby's heartbeat for the past week and have been able to see it but it wasn't until today that I got to hear it and the heart rate is at 170.

1/23/2012 - OB appointment

Today we had our OB appointment and I seem to have lost a couple of pounds since the last time I was in. He tried to hear the heart beat with his doppler but he wasn't proding the baby enough to move it. The baby likes to sit right over the placenta. He then grabbed his ultrasound machine and we got to see baby and it jumped on the screen, loved seeing that. Have my next appointment in about 4 weeks again.

2/2/2012 CO Poisoning

Well, how do I start? First I was at work last night and my ambulance tried to kill me and my partner. Our truck was put CO gas into the cab of the truck. We had been in it for 1 call and after was really sick and ended up being taken to the emergency room and both of us had CO poisoning. Since I am pregnant they did another ultrasound and found out I have a subchorionic hemorrhage and now have to be on pelvic rest until I see my OB. Oh and also had to be put on a Non-Rebreather Mask for over 5 hours because the effects of CO is 10 to 15% more on a baby than the mother. On a good note the baby's heart rate was 165 and very active.

I called and spoke to my OB's nurse this morning and have an appointment for tomorrow at 11am. Will update more after I see him.

2/3/2012 - OB appointment

When I went into see my OB I had explain the whole thing about how I ended up with CO poisoning. He checked the baby and it has a strong heartbeat. He said I could go back to work but doesn't want me lifting over 50 lbs until 20 wks and 30 lbs after 20 wks. Since my job consists of lifting people with only 2 of us doing it and the average person is at least 250lbs makes it to where I am going to be off the ambulance until after baby is born. My supervisor is looking to see if we can find something light duty but more than likely will have to go on FMLA. I see my OB again in 2 weeks for my normal appointment.
