| 28-2-2010 - Austyn Lucas is Here!!! | My mood while writing this blog:Excited and in Love |
I know its been a few days since I have been on here. Had problems getting on the website at the hospital.
So here goes with the birth story. Our induction date was set for Feb. 25, 2010 at 7am. I called that morning just before we woke Aydan up and they said to call back in an hour and half because they didn't have any beds at that time. So I called back at 7:30 and they told me that they would have a bed open between 8 and 830 am. We had gotten Aydan ready and over to our friends house and was at the hospital by 8am. They had us wait in the waiting room until about 8:30am. Once they got us in the room and the IV set and everything it was about 930 am and that is when my doctor came in and broke my water. At that time before he broke my water I had actually progressed to 2cm and 70% effaced from my 1cm and 50% efface on Monday. Once he broke my water we waited for about 30 min and no contractions started so then we started the pitocin at 10 am. From there I had an epidural place but not without some major complications. When I had talked to the person placing I had told them that I was allergic to Fentenyl which is in the epidurals. When they asked what had happened when I had it I told them about the itiching and that the ER had gave me stuff to counteract the medication before it got any worse. They told me that the itching was a normal side effect and why don't we try so I said ok. Well within about 15 mins of having it in place I couldn't breath and we had to get my epi pens out quick and everything. Then they put a different bag in for the epidural one that didn't have the Fentenyl. This one worked good I could still feel the pain but could handle it. Toward the end they came in and gave me some boosters of the epidural since I didn't have Fentenyl in it and I ended up going numb from my arms down. I also progessed to 10cm by 3:45pm and started to push which was hard but with in about 6 contractions Austyn was here at 4:03pm so about a total of 6hrs and he is perfect. I also didn't tear or have to be cut. He weighs 7lb 15oz and was 20 inches long. He looks just like is older brother Aydan did when he was born. Its a good thing we have dates on pictures or we wouldn't know who was who. I will try to get some pictures up soon. I do have some on facebook if anyone wants to add me. My name is Tiffany Gannutz and should be the only one with that name since my last name is uncommon.
