30-4-2008 - My First Scan

I went for my first scan yesterday! My appointment wasn't until 3:15pm, an hour before i started drinking lots and lots of water. I was really excited but couldn't help thinking that the nurse was going to say that something wasn't right with my baby. I got upset but my boyfriend said everything will be fine :) He dried and straightned my hair for me lol.

I met my Mum outside the hospital with my boyfriend and before i knew it i was on the table watching my little one bopping up and down and waving its arms and legs about. It was amazing to watch, better than the photo they give you after. I wanted to sit and watch the baby all day lol.

The nurse however didn't say anything about how fast its heart was or if it was the correct size for 12 months etc. But i'm guessing everything is great. She said the baby was 44mm. I got two scan photos after so when we got into the car park i cut one off for my Mum to take home with her.

The nurse said my next scan will be when I'm 20 weeks pregnant and that if i want more than two photos of the baby then, then i have to pay for them. Not sure how much but they can't be that expensive! I hope lol.

So everythings great and i'm really happy. Will get the photo of the scan up on here! x

Congrats Mommy! and dont worry.. I think we ALL feel xtra nervous right before the 1st scan.. ur next scan, u'll be nothing less than excited!
