| 04-1-2011 - Prayers for my dog... | My mood while writing this blog:worried |
Hi All,
Just asking you all to have in your thoughts my family dog... she is very unwell at the moment and I am so very worried about her. She is 6 - so not so old... but very ill - hasn't been able to eat or drink and is in so much pain. She is at the local vet overnight on a constant drip while we wait for more blood work to get back....
So I know that while she is 'only a dog'... she is part of our family - our pets have always been part of the family and Gemma really doesn't know that she is a dog - I'm sure she thinks that she is a person...
so I ask that you have her in your thoughts... I will update you when I have further info - but I'm so concerned that we are going to get very bad news.....
so.... update so far - more tests have been done..... still very unwell.... is travelling home with my parents now for further tests etc.... most likely possibilities at the moment - cyst near liver/kidney or cancer mass...... not sounding good. cyst can be treated. vet has advised that if cancer - she wouldn't wake her up again after next round of tests if gemma was her dog.....
keeping fingers crossed even though my spirits are low at the moment :(
ok - so the latest is... turned out to be an absess that had burst with tumour mass around it - all has been removed along with 5cms either side of it... sent off for pathology to see if it is cancer (most likely) 10 per cent chance it's not.... still she is much better - though sore and sorry for herself - but finally home. Fingers crossed she'll get another couple of good years - my poor parents are totally broke after it though - they have spent a ridiculous fortune on her..... she is their baby now that we have grown up and moved out - and I have family of my own now...
So thanks for your thoughts and prayers - I know others have far bigger things going on and my families problems probably seem insignficant - but things are always seen in perspective I guess.... But my thoughts do go to all my friends out their doing it tough... and to all the aussie friends in the flood areas - please stay safe.
Thanks for your support ladies,
We will be starting the TTC next month hopefully - so see you all around more frequently soon :)
