18-5-2009 - Oh my poor Hailey! grrr....My mood while writing this blog:
grrr....

So Jon and I had the worst morning getting Hailey ready for school. It took both of us a half an hour just getting her shorts on. She cried and screamed and tried to use all her physical strength to stop us from getting her ready for school. We feel like we had to overpower her with our physical strength to get her ready. If you don't know she is 6 yrs. old and severly Autistic. She can not talk at all so when and if something tramatic happens to her she can not tell us. We both feel that there is something bad that has happened at school. Don't get me wrong we have been forcing her to go every day. She started to freak out about going about two months ago. Today was just the very worst. I wrote a note and called the school about our delema. Of course they are like we didn't know. Bull, we told them enough times. They said we can have a meeting later on. What the.... school is out on June 8th, how much later? Hailey's dad and I both cried today, we are done with this forcing her to go. I don't know what to do? HELP! Any ideas of what could have happened? Her special ed. room teacher said she is very good there. It leads me to believe that someone else, a therapist or her other kindergarten class teacher are miss understanding her and treating her badly. They want her to fit in with kids her age but the doctors all say that mentally she is a two year old. Please take a minute and rack your brain for ideas to help our little girl. I would be gratefull to all who can try to help us. Thank You!

i forget to mention my son loves to draw and we got him a doodle pro and it calms him down, also he loves music he loves to snuggle and play with your skin,he loves water and bath time,he love you to read,he loves to build with blocks, does your daughter gets behavioral therapy my son get it through the county and she goes to his school one day a week for 3 hrs just to observe him but his case is going to be close next month cuz it will be 1 year of having the therapy,so we're trying to get more speech to replace it,so just hug her, talk to her and just let her see how much you love her and i agree with babydollo4 about the change, cuz on weekend it seems like my son misses school and also going on the school bus but we always do things with him to pass the weekend,so hang in there and just find what other services can she have and is your daughter in a autism support classroom, well i'm here if you have a any questions.

Oh hun i'm so sorry to see what you and your family is going through,i can related to you my son is autistic will be 5 years old nov coming and doesn't talk,my hubby and i are having the same concerns because for the past couple of weeks is behavior has change and now he is pushing and hitting at his sister but not to really hurt her,and we were wondering if any of the other kids are hitting or even the teachers cuz there are only 5 kids plus him in the classroom,it's very shocking to us because he's not that kind of child,if you see him you will never know he is autistic,he's a very loving and affectionate little boy who always love to smile and hugs you and it's so hard because he can't tell you what is going on and that is when people can take advantage of him,he always gets up in a good mood and he gets very excited when he sees the school bus,but once he gets off the school bus and into the house 5 minutes later it all starts, but i always make sure that i undress him and look for any types of makes on his body,i have address this to his teacher also and all see writes home in his communication book is that he had a great day, well i hope all is well with your daughter and you all are definitely in my prayers,i'm here if you need to talk.

I could never imagine if this was me with one of my daughters. I know that sometimes mom's who have children with special needs do home schooling that way they know their child is learning. I have no clue anything about your daughters condition and I hope that you find what you need for her. Your family and daughter are in my prayers and I wish I could be more help.

I'm so sorry for what you and your family are going through. It's so hard especially when it's a child with Autism who cannot speak and tell you what has happened to them. First, I would send a digital recorder to school with Hailey on a daily basis. A parent in Houston did this recently and found that their child was being verbally abused. Then, I would contact the schools superintendent due to the front offices lack of attention and concern to your matter. When a parent brings a concern of this matter to the attention of the principal I would think it would be an urgent matter and would require immediate attention from the school officials. June 8th is around the corner. If you believe someone has mistreated her find out what your options are. Has Hailey missed any school days? Would she be placed in the next grade level if she did not return to the school this year? Are you able to home school Hailey for the remainder of the year? I'm so sorry I dont have the answer you might be looking for but as a parent I can understand your concern and worries. My heart and prayers go out to you, your husband, and Hailey. Please update us all on the outcome....

Omg my heart goes out 2 u and ur family i know u said hailey goes not speak so have u tried art therapy at all? pictures say alot is there a special needs school in ur area? school staff members pushing off a very important meeting when school ends soon tells me that they just dont care enough about haileys needs and thats just not right i know education is extremely important but i just couldnt bring myself to make a child go thru that every morning so i can only imagine how hard it must be i used the word "imagine" because i hate when people say "i know what ur going thru" when they really dont is there anyway that she can stay home until u decide on another school or different options? i hope everything goes well and gets better...
