Write a new blog

My mood while writing this blog: Ok |
So the school called and said that Hailey was bad again and they pulled her from the bus ride home. We don't even own a car so her daddy took a cab to get her 5 miles away. The cab got lost. When he gets there Hailey was fine. Her dad had to go to work as soon as he got her home after he left I noticed yet another bruising on her. I don't know how to post it in the blog so I put them on my profile for now. If this is how they control Special Ed. children then I don't know what to do. Any advise after checking the pics please feel free to comment.

Friday, 12 Jun my daughter's school offers many different types of classroom settings depending on the childs evaluation, dr. recomendations, or what have you. they actually have very small classes for autistic children in their public school. so for half of the day, she could go to that classroom, and the other half the day she could go to a "normal" kindergarden. her day is full day rather than half a day like the rest of the kindergardeners. i had attendance issues with her because she would fight with me in the morning. she doesnt like clothes, or socks or shoes with laces. so what i did was cut all the tags out of her clothes (the main reason she didnt like clothes), turn her socks inside out (bc it was the inside of the sock she hated) and bought her slip on comfortable shoes. the school gave me a very very hard time, and i explained the agony getting her to school. i also do not have a car to get her if she would not be allowed on the bus. what i dont understand is why the school would have her on a school bus, and not individualized transportation. im pretty sure you could push for a van with car seats/booster seats in them. that way they cant hurt themselves. i did notice, when she was in the preschool class for autistic children she came home with bruises and once a fat lip. the school was good about it and called me immediatly. aparently they had another child in the classroom who could get violent at times, and another little boy who was mostly blind and would occassionally bump into other kids. i would make sure all the bruises are documented with the Board of Education. They need to be documenting every little bump or scrape, if they are not doing this, they are not doing their job. i even showed up at the school unannounced a few times just to watch the teachers. =) you dont have to call in advance. you have the right to see the classroom. but, if transportation isnt working for her, push for the private van. it might be easier on her as well, less kids, less commotion, and it picks you up right in front of your house. i know its hard when your children cant tell you what happened. i still have that problem with my daughter. if another child hurts her, she goes into a fit and is not able to tell me what happened. she just doesnt have the words. its always a guessing game.
did the bus driver tell you what your daughter is doing that forces them to keep her off the bus? i would definatly either look into a new school, or push for the private transportation services. (which are free)
home schooling is another option, however its really importatant autsitic children get socialization. so you would need to way the good and bad.
