18-10-2009 - Jaundice Scare BETTER My mood while writing this blog:
BETTER

well once again I had to deal with jaundice scare this time with the twins...I had brought them home after 2 days and was home about 4 but had to readmit babies for jaundice. One of the boys was severe so they had to put him in the NICU hooked to monitors, IV and tubes thru his umbilical cord for a transfusion if needed plus placed on lights. then my other twin boy was brought to pediatrics and put under heavy lights. Both having to have there foots poked every 3hours to make sure the levels of jaundice was going down due to the lights. Thank goodness the lights for my son Kyser who was in NICU, worked we did not have to go thru with the transfusion. I dont think i have ever cried as much as i did when i had to bring these babies to the hospital to go thru this. Babies and myself did not leave that hospital for over 2 and 1/2days but we got to leave :). So now i have been going back in forth for doctor apointments to make sure the boys' jaundice levels are still dropping and to make sure there gaining weight. So far so good I think the misery is finally starting to be over. I just thought I would share this was scary for me and my family but thankful for the doctors and hospitals we have these days my babies are healthy and home :)
