My mood while writing this blog: HAPPY |
I started having what I thought was labor pains on Friday night (2/26) so I called my mom and made her come back to town. She had went to visit her sister, but she had to turn around and come back home. Once she got back we all loaded up and went to the hospital. The doctor checked me and said I hadn't dilated any so they kept me for an hour and then checked me again, still no change. So I got sent home. Around 1:30am Sunday morning I started having harder contractions (they never stopped from Friday) so around 3 am I got out of bed because I was so uncomfortable. I laid on the counch until 4 am, then I called my mom and made her come over to sit with me. Once she got there I told her I couldn't handle it any more so she woke my boyfriend up and told him we were leaving for the hospital. He stayed home with our 2 yr old just in case it was fake labor again. LOL I knew it wasn't. I got to the hospital around 5 am and they checked me.. of course I was still the same so they let me lay there in pain for an hour and then checked me again.. still no change. The nurse went and asked the doctor and she decided to keep me one more hour.. when they checked me the first time they gave me tylenol and benadryl to stop the contractions (guess it works if they are braxton hicks) well it didn't for me. That's why they kept me that extra hour. Finally I was dilated to a 4 at that point. So my mom called my boyfriend and he and my son came to the hospital. I got my epidural (which I was begging for at that point) and then was checked again. I was dilated to a 6 so they decided to break my water. It took a about 2 hours for me to get to a 7/8 (they was getting ready to give me that medicine to induce me to make me go faster but I started feeling a lot of pressure so that's why they checked me again and realized I was a 7/8). So they decided not to do anything and just let my body do what it's suppose to do. I was at a 9 1/2 about an hour later. My mom and dad and boyfriend stayed in the room when I started pushing. I had my dad filmed the whole thing. I pushed about 9 times (3 sets of 3 pushes) and she was out! Let me tell you, that is the worst pressure I have ever felt! But it all happend so fast. They laid her on my chest and I started crying. She weighed 5 lbs and 10 ozs and was 17 1/2 inches long. I got checked into the hospital around 7 am and she was born at 12:09 pm. We stayed in the hospital for 24 hours then we got to come home! We got settled in and the first thing I wanted to do was watch the video my dad recorded! It was awesome! I would HIGHLY recommend filming it!
