20-6-2009 - update/ gettin\' close..

My mood while writing this blog: excited/nervous

Just wanted to send everyone out an update of what was going on over here in baby land!! well Thurs i went to my dr's appt and found out that my baby is still breech. She is laying with her butt on the left side of my stomach, head at the top and feet wrapped around in front of her face. (curled into a ball) I had a sono at the dr's office and she was sleeping away ( or at least faking like she was) The dr told me that since she is still breech that their prob a chance that she will not turn since i just turned 37 wks.. i also have 3 fibroids in there that i found out about at 14 weeks that are in there crowding up her space! sooooooooooooo..that dr gave me 3 choices and when i go back to the drs on Thurs ( i'm doing weekly visits now..so u know it's getting close) i have to make a decision.

#1-- i can have them attempt the "extrenal version". where they send me to the hospital and try to flip the baby from the outside of my stomach, the dr showed me a little of what it would feel like, and OUCH! is all that i have to say, and she told me that she was not even doing it as hard as they would

#2-- I can wait until i go into labor (whenever that may be) and see what position she is in then and if she is still breech then a c-section i would get, if she is head down then i guess just go w/ the flow

#3-- when i go back give the dr my date of my scheduled c-section!!! and pick her bday! if that is the case then we are aiming for 7/6/09!!!

soooo..those are my 3 choices, talk about being put on the spot. I was thinking of another plan that i could see if it could be done... have them induce me and give me a epdiural of course and see if they are able to flip her with me having the pain meds?!?! just a thought. but the whole flipping idea i read a lil up on it and our teacher in our labor/delivery class has went over it, i don't really like the idea because something could go wrong like the umbilical cord being wrapped around the babies neck, or blood supply or air could be cut off? if you search "external version" their should be some info that comes up..but then again their is only like a 58% chance that the turning will work, and also if they are able to get the baby to turn then their is a chance that she will turn back? so i am just going to wait until Thurs and hopefully get some good news that she has turned..pray that she does! The dr told me a few exercises that i could do that could get her to turn and also i wanted to try the headphone trick some more where u play music and place headphones at the bottom of your stomach and try to get them to flip. she is doing ALOT of moving as i type this, so maybe just maybe she has heard me talking about her since my drs appt and she is going to flip 4 me!! haha

So who knows when her bday will be anymore, she is running the show, my original due date was 7/10/09! but she may be wanting to come early since she heard that she got sooooooooooo much good stuff at my baby shower, i guess that she can't wait to come out and see it all.. i will send out another update thurs or fri letting everyone know what happened. please feel free to comment or let me know if you have ever been in my situation!
