19-9-2008 - doing this to help with the craziness/waiting game

My mood while writing this blog: icky!!

9/19--hoping blogging with take things off my mind a little: so im waiting ovulation (by the calendars and tickers and all should be today/2mrw) that is if i ovulate on the norm day 14? just wanted to post the days and the crazy symptoms that i am having and just add to this same blog as long as i am able to edit it. Today woke up with killer heartburn and feeling BLAH, sore throat, and i feel the sensation like i have to throw up, and my whole body feels hot. yesterday i was going to start typing this ..but for yesterday i just felt weird cramping in my stomach. and twitching in my stomach.. 2days days ago i noticed scabs on my nipples (they are not really there anymore.. please check my chart out to let me know what you think so far (link on main page)

9/21-- charting has been going well, can't wait until it will show on there which day i ovulated. have a feeling it will show in the next 2 days or so.. as of this AM my temps were at their highest. so we will see. not really feeling much today a little headache feeling like its coming on and boob soreness. and mild cramping here and there. I had a dream last night that i was preggo, it was so real.Well actually that the test showed positive. I had taken a test strip and it showed 2 very dark lines, and i had told my hubby that i took a test like i normally tell him when i do (normally i would say it was neg or that im not preg right now) instead i said i left it upstairs in the bathroom..so he went up to look at it and he didnt believe it he wanted to see the picture and directions of what the test should look like when it was positive. so we had instructions and pics flying everywhere in disbelief. So i have the digital tests that im saving to take when i miss my period and i went to open those up to take 1 and was about to pee...uggghhh and the alarm went off for me to chart..hahahah.i have it set for the time that i get up during the week 4:50am.. so i never got to see that "pregnant" on the test.. i laid back down after taking my temp to see if the dream would pick up where it left off..well it didn't eeeekkk! so i have to wait now...im staying tough and not testing til the 1st week of oct.

9/23-- check out the link to my charting page..it's looking good!! i got my fingers and toes crossed hoping for the best!! I def would recommend the fertility friend site , it was my 1st month charting and once i got in the routine i stuck to it, i think that i did well!! wish me luck. my ovulation date was right on to what all the ovulation calendars said so that i will know 4 future reference!! 3DPO: cramping (twinges/sharp pains in lower abdomen, sore boobs, hot (stomach feels hot), heartburn, gassy

While there's not a lot of medical research to support this idea, anecdotal evidence suggests that it can help. But there are a few caveats, too. One ingredient in certain cough syrups — guaifenesin — can help you get pregnant by thinning your cervical fluid, which enables sperm to travel through your cervix and fertilize an egg. If you know from taking your temperature every morning that you're ovulating, but you don't seem to be producing much wet, slippery, cervical fluid, guaifenesin might be all the help you need to get pregnant. This is the paradox, though: You need to know when you're approaching ovulation to take advantage of this recommendation, and the only way to know that is by checking your cervical fluid. So guaifenesin works best on women who do produce at least some cervical fluid.

How does it work? Guaifenesin, a common ingredient in cough syrups, is an "expectorant." That is, it relieves congestion by helping liquefy mucus in your lungs, allowing you to cough it up. And because it works systemically on all mucous membranes in your body, it can make your cervical fluid wetter, too.

The trick is to find a cough syrup in which guaifenesin is the only active ingredient, so check labels carefully. Many cough and cold medicines contain antihistamines that also work systemically in your body but have the reverse effect: They dry up mucus and diminish wet cervical fluid. And while you're trying to get pregnant, there's no reason to expose yourself to any other drugs unnecessarily, so find a product that contains only guaifenesin and no other active ingredients, including dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant) and alcohol. Humibid LA — the pill form of guaifenesin, available by prescription — is a safe choice. Ask your healthcare provider to prescribe it for you.

If you're taking the liquid form of guaifenesin, take 2 teaspoons three times a day around the time of month you're expecting to ovulate. If you're taking the pill form (Humibid LA), take it as prescribed for a cold. Either way, I would encourage you to take it from the first day you notice any type of wetness through the day of your temperature shift. That may be about a week. Guaifenesin may even work for women who've had abnormal cervical cells frozen off or who've had a cone biopsy — the removal of a cone-shaped wedge of the cervix to treat lesions that may be precancerous. This procedure destroys some of the cervical crypts that produce fluid. If this is what's behind your low production of cervical fluid, taking guaifenesin might help you produce enough wet, slippery fluid through the remaining cervical crypts to help you get pregnant.

9/28 8DPO-- i'm sitting here feeling sick to my stomach, feels like i have to throw up :( i am burning up (temp) i fell hot, my whole body. sharp pains in my right side and bloated!

10/2 12 DPO-- AF IS NOT COMING, AF IS NOT COMING!!! I'M BELIEVING IN MYSELF AND THAT THIS COULD BE IT, PLEASE MAKE THIS IT!! at this moment, i have killer heartburn, a sore throat, my temp is hot, i feel blah, crampy, had weird growling like in my stomach, lots of weird movement while i was at work, sharp annoying pain in the lower left side of my stomach! please make my temps stay up for 2mrw AM!! or go up even more

10/3 CD 1-- AF started lightly around 11ish today :0(.. a day early?? which never happens! so i'm on for another round of trying! gonna try to not really stress myself about it as much..but that can be hard! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

10/4 CD 2-- AF here full blast, maybe it will be another 2 day cycle like last month.. then the sooner i can start Bd'ing!!!! pray that this will be my month.. i know that it will seem like it will take so long to be the end of the month! CL to all the BFP that happened in the month of Sept!!! :0)

10/9 CD 7-- had another short Af this month :0/ dunno what the deal is but if guess i could get used to 2-3 day AF's since i have had 5 days 1's since i was 10 yrs old?? but i will be trying OPK's this month (see blog) once they arrive in the mail.. i got a really good deal on the OPK/preg tests combo... so i decided to try them because i have been hearing tons of good things about them. my symptoms this month so far are not starting out 2 bad..so im guess once i am close to ovul. they may kick in.. if u look at my chart from last month u will see all the crazy symptoms that i had.. heartburn was a killer...ugh! so wish me luck and if anyone wants to be OPK buddies w/ me let me know! i went to the library and got the "Taking Charge of your fertility" book, just skimming through it so far seems like it will be a pretty good 1. congrats to all the recent BFP!
