06-12-2008 - 1st appt & sonogram

My mood while writing this blog:

So i went on 12/4/08 for my 1st appt and sonogram at the dr's. The office that i go to they have 4 different dr's and throughout my pregnancy i will be able to meet all of them. The 1st one that i met was nice. I see another one on my next appt. But things went good, i got to see my little baby on the screen. Strong heartbeat, and i was told that i was 8wks and 6 days...but i had that right on point..i kept track of every little detail and date while TTC! so everything worked out. I was given a bag with alot of good info in it, which was nice since i like to read stuff. Anybody who is as far along as me or can think back to when they were.. ppl think that i am crazy but i can feel what side the baby is laying on. All along he/ she has been on my left side so i normally sleep on my right. but while i was getting ready for my appt the baby had shifted to the right side, i guess needed a change? so the dr did the sonogram and that is where she found him/her. I was going to prove to my hubby that i was not going crazy and the whole day b4 i was saying "i get to prove to him that the baby is on the left side" I feel a knot where the baby is... so i was just checking w/ everyone else to see if anyone else experienced this. I'm not saying that i can feel kicks or anything of course..but i do feel little twinges if u want to call them that. sooooooo..my next appt is on 12/29..i cannot wait i will be able to see more, and i was going to see if their is anyway at the dr's that i would be able to hear the baby's heartbeat. At the end of the visit they drew like 6 vials of blood, i said to myself i might as well get used to being poked w/ needles..ekkkkkk! it actually is not bad..considering im the type of person that never gets sick or has to go to the dr's 4 anything, and has never really been in the hospital. I have my sonogram pic. i will get a copy put up as soon as i can, i think that it came out very clear compared to some of the other ones that i saw on this site. I cant wait to get my baby book all set up w/ all these memories! hope that things are well w/ all you other ladies. I will be around 13 wks when i go for my next appt. yay!

congrats girl! They should let you listen to the heartbeat at your next visit because at every visit they have to check it with the doppler thingy...

That's awesome! :) Glad to hear that it went well. At 8 weeks I couldn't feel anything. I'm starting to a little now though. At lease I think that I am, some say that it would be too early but I've heard that others do, I don't feel so crazy now hehe. Hope that you're feeling good! Take care!

intresting that you brought the whole shifting from side-to-side thing. when i was 12 weeks prego, i could swear on the bible that i felt something move/kick within side of me! it was freaky!

i hate needles-blood, and everything that goes with it! but i ended up being in the hosptial for a week at 34 weeks due to preeclampsia and HELLPS Sydrome, and the they lab had to take blood every 12 hrs, and took 3-4 vials everytime! i had so many brusies when i finally came home, i looked like i did drugs! for about a month i had to wear long sleeve t-shirts in 80-90 degree weather!! it sucked! but totally worth it!

oh yeah-you usually can't hear the heartbeat until about 11 or 12 weeks!
