Hey guys this may be a little TMI but I was wondering how you would not know you have flat nipples? I mean I have seen pics but I heard one lady say that she had no idea. Here comes the TMI part. I squeeze my nipple and it gets hard and stuff. Is that a normal nipple? Im wondering this because I really wanna breastfeed but wanna make sure I can. Does it sould like a flat nipple? Thanks guys I feel silly asking this!

It doesn't sound to me like you've got flat nipples. Especially if they get hard when stimulated. Anyway your baby will feed from the whole breast not just the nipple. When she is latched on properly you cant really see any of the areola. I'm breast feeding my little one, it's the most amazing bonding experience. Good for you for giving it a go, a few of my friends haven't even tried it. x

lol! if it helps my nips are flat unless they are erect by cold and stuff but I breastfed just fine...is that what you were asking? Also if you have a problem with the baby not latching because of the shape of your nips they have these covers you can fit over your nips to help baby latch better.
