06-5-2009 - Six Months Old

My mood while writing this blog: Shocked!

I am in dislief that Gavin is 6 months old already! Unbelievable...seems just like yesterday I was still pregnant. It seems like that's all I say! lol Gavin just had his 6 month doctor appt. He's 16 pounds 4 ounces (25 percentile), he's 27 inches tall (75 percentile) and his head measure 16 inches (25 percentile). His doctor said he's right in track and that he looks great! He's a skinny long kid. :) Also, he gots his shots. Ugh, how I hate when he gets em!!! Atleast no shots til he's one and it will only be one shot instead of three. So that's amazing to hear!

We started solids...did great with stage 1. Starting with stage 2 now. So far he's had carrots, sweet poatoes, peas, chicken, babanas, pears and blueberries. LOVES em ALL! :) One thing that I don't have a problem with him is his eating habits! He just loves everything we give him! lol Which is great, we want him to be a healthy strong big boy!

Gavin is rolling over, doesn't too much like tummy time still but if we distract him he'll spend a long tie playing. Can sit unassited, but still falls over a lot. He's getting stronger day by day. We sit down on the floor and encourge him to play sitting up or on his tummy. Now crawling just yet, but I am not worried about non of that stuff. If I was I would go crazy thinking he's not doing this or that and other babies are. I just came to the conclusion that ALL babies are diffrent and develop at diffrent stages. He's babbling the day away and he screams out of excitement when daddy comes home from work...it's so sweet to watch. Gavin also LOVES when daddy does this whom whom womp whomp sound....Gavin gets soo excited!! :)

Sleep...wait did I say sleep? lol We have our rough nights here and there and it's frustrating but then agian he's still a baby so I should expect it, but Gavin is so unexpectable it's crazy. For a week straight he'll sleep through the nite and the next 2-3 days it will be hell. We blame it on the teeth because there's no other sign of him hurting or anything else. But overall sleep is getting better day by day for all of us. As naps go...he really isn't a nap taker. Some days he'll sleep 3-4 hours and the next he'll snooze 30 min here and 30 min there.

As for me...I am still at stay at home mommy which I LOVE, but the stupid ecomomy is getting so bad I'm looking for a part time job, but it's sooo hard to even find anything for the hours I could work. My mom can only watch Gavin certain days cuz she also works and I am NOT putting him in daycare this young...that's just my opinion. Plus it's so expensive I would be working for daycare and that's not worth it if I could just stay home and raise my own child instead of some 17 year old that doesn't give two flying F's...if you catch my drift. Things with the fiance are great...couldn't have been better. We want to get married but I want a nice wedding...and things are soo expensive these day it's insane. I mean the average wedding is like 19 grand and that's just average!! Also, we are thinking about the next baby...lol. I am here talking I wanna get married and also have another baby...I must be crazy. I kinda just wanna have another one and lose all the weight I want and then get married...another thing stopping me is my weight. I still need to lose 20 pounds prior to Gavin! UGH! So we will see what happens.

I am glad the weather is getting warmer, even tho one day it will be 75 degrees and the next it's 40 degrees still...go figure. Now all the walks to the park start and everywhere else! :) Well ok I think I rambled enough lol Hope all you ladies and your wonderful babies are doing great! :)
