| 05-4-2008 - Grunt all night, sleep all day | My mood while writing this blog:tired |
Paige has been home one week. I am still getting used to parenthood with a "newborn" 2 month old baby. I am grateful for all the time I spent in the NICU getting advice from the nurses, it has really prepared me... I'm convinced that if Paige wasn't born early and I didn't get that "training" I'd be a real mess!
Paige is a very good little baby. She eats and sleeps and only cries when she is hungry. After her bottle she crashes hard and sleeps 3-4 hours. My sister says I am very lucky that she doesn't cry and fuss more. Well, Paige doesn't cry a lot, but she is a near-constant grunter. She grunts, loudly, in her sleep. I asked the home nurse if this was normal and she said yes. Paige only enters a deep, quiet sleep a few times a day. I am getting used to tuning out the grunts when I sleep, but I am worried that in doing so I'll also tune out her cries for food! My husband is having the opposite problem, he can't tune her out at all and got very little sleep this week. The few times during the night Paige stopped grunting my husband woke up in a panic to make sure she was breathing! LOL It's a no-win situation for him currently.
