Certainly good practice!

don't be too woried about handling the kitten, but you do have to be careful around the littler box it's called toxoplasmosis it is a parasitic infection which can be transmitted by fecal-oral contamination from infected cats. outdoor cats are more likely affected. if you do have to deal with any kitty litter wear latex gloves and a mask and wash well. but good luck with the baby kitty!! a few years ago i found a box of 5 abandoned kittens and nursed all of them back to health. took a lot of time and effort but was worth it!

Oh geez, I really hope the kitten makes it...I kind of wanted to cry reading this. I'm the same way, I had fed with a dopper 4 tiny baby bunnies that were in my backyard and the mama had abandoned them...good luck, I think its so sweet what you're doing...let me know what happens xxx

My brother's cat had kittens last night early this morning, she had 4 of them. I was downstairs this evening when his girlfriend was showing us them..and she was feeding all but one of them. All the other kittens were meowing and moving around and this little one was not moving so much was kinda stiff and was getting cold. It had not eaten since it was born I guess cause she wasn't feeding it. My brother's girlfriend told me when she was having them, she didn't even clean that kitten off or anything..she like just left it there. So I'm sitting there watching this helpless little kitten trying to open its mouth and move so I told my husband about it and he went down with a medicine dropper and fed it some milk, and was holding it. We decided to go to the store and buy some kitten formula, and we're going to feed it every 3 hours, and hope to God it survives. It's soo tiny, I took a picture of it, it's on the last page of my photo book. So If it makes it though the night, which I hope it does, I"m going to be feeding it by syringe all day tomorrow. Right now we have it in a shoe box with a towel on top of the tower of mike's computer, it's nice and warm. It's soo weird how humans are soo different than animals. If I had a child with a problem, I'd never just leave it there to freeze and starve, I think I was much more emotional about it cause I'm pregnant and have a little one inside of me..lol. I just hope he/she makes it.. Just wanted to share... Good Night
