12-5-2009 - Need Advice!:-) OkMy mood while writing this blog:
Ok

Hello My beautiful Mommies, Mommies 2 be, and TTCers!

Ok, So as i get closer and closer to my due date, im beginning to freak out about all the things that i want to be done before my lil momma gets here. Ok with that being said, i have a question for all of the mommies out there. Could someone please tell me what's an absolutely must have when i pack my hospital bag for me, and what exactly do i need to pack in my baby girl bag!

I know i have a little over a month before im due, but i really, really feel the urge to get the bags packed now, so it will be one less thing on my list that i have to worry about.

Thank You Guys! Smooches...

Bring your own pads, a head scarf (you are not gonna feel like doing your hair) soft loose clothing, a soft going home outfit(4u), LOTION!!! and for your baby, the hospital provided me with everything, but i used the things i brought, bring soft blankets for her, hats, gowns are the best cause they are very easy, I packed a newborn sized outfit for my son, and it was HUGE on him, He was 7.2 lbs, so i would run to walmart and buy jus 1 preemie outfit, they work for brand new babies not just preemies all baby lotions and powders, the doc will tell you dont use them, so you might as well leave them home (or you will be tempted) q tips for the baby too

Well you will need:
Toothbrush, soap & lotions, warm socks, night gown that opens in the front for nursing, robe, change of cloths for your discharge, makeup cuz you are gonna have lots of visitors, snacks, soothing music, insurance, brush/comb to keep your hair nice

And for the baby:
A onsie, some socks, a hat unless you let her wear the one from the hospital, a going home oufit, some hand mittens, if she is gona take pics at the hospital then an extra outfit for pics. you dont need to worry about diapers or bottle so dont pack them and of course your carseat

Good luck its always good to be prepared!!

I'm thankful I had my own soap/shampoo/conditioner...the familiar smells made feel good. And bring your own pillow...again, it's a familiar/comforting object. The hospital provides a lot of goodies, as they should, you/insurance are paying a nice chunk of change to deliver there :) Good luck & Congrats!!

Your own pillow! Don't forget breath mints (keep them by the bed)! In the mother baby unit, people will be in the room every few hours checking vitals and waking you up! It will help you feel "fresh". Oh and breast pads incase your milk comes in while you're still in the hospital. I would also bring some super duper heavy over night pads and not so pretty underwear to wear home. The hospital provides you with pads, but it's the cheap long and skinny kind.
For the baby, a nail file/no scratch mittens in case she comes out with long nails . You should pack 2 outfits for her to wear home. Make one slightly bigger than the other, because you never know how big/small she might be. Hope this helps!
