Ok, my husband and I are coming to the conclusion that our son is a sh**ty sleeper! As much as we love him and would like to believe he's not, he is!! At least we can laugh about it and aren't at our wits end but this little man just does not want to sleep at night. We are hoping that it's just due to his teething but not sure. He started teething at like 3 months and he's about to be 6 months on the 18th so we've been dealing with this teething/lack of sleeping thing for quite some while. We've tried almost everything. He has a bedtime schedule (bath, bottle and massage every night at the same time) but still goes to bed only when he decides. We tried the Ferber method for all of 3 days but I can't just let my son cry and pretend I don't hear it. Not to say he doesn't surprise us from time to time and sleep well but every night is a guess. I suppose this is just all a part of being a parent. Sometimes it can be so frustrating especially when I haven't gotten enough sleep myself but hey, what can you do?? He's slept in his crib for all of about 3 weeks since his birth, every other night has been in the bed with us hoping that would help him sleep better, NOT!! Once he really falls into a deep sleep he has the ability to sleep for hours at a time but that's generally not until around 11 or 12 at night lately. Oh well, he won't be this small forever.

hey hun..how's he sleeping now?..My Son slept great in our bed..lol..I used to bf him to sleep..then put him in his crib..if he woke..i'd change his nappy and feed him back to sleep..we co-slept for ages..and he's so good at sleeping in his big bed in his own room..the first night he was in his big bed..he didn't get out at all..and slept the whole night through..I think the key is not to push them too much at a young age..let them feel secure and when they get a little older, start to be a bit more pushy with them..and they will soon learn..take care hun..hope you get some sleep soon...I'm dreading the newborn sleep stages..=S..lol..xx

Have you gone to the library to check out the book Good Night, Sleep Tight by Kim West? If not, run there today and get it. I swear it is what helped us. I aim to give a copy of it to every new mother.
