14-9-2009 - Just an Update

My mood while writing this blog: OK

Well Xavier will be 7 months old on the 18th and I cannot believe time has passed by so quickly. He is learning at such a fast pace it's almost unreal. He loves to clap his hands now especially if we say "clap, clap, clap", he thinks its the funniest thing ever. He's not yet crawling but loves to scoot (backwards most of the time) and turn around. The best way to get him motivated is to put his stuffed Elmo in front of him and say "come to Elmo". He kicks his feet so hard like he's trying to get there but he just can't yet. My mom says he'll make an excellent swimmer! He reaches for everything he can get his hands on which means we have to keep our third eye on his lil butt. I would hate to have another hand full of poop!

He's learning to be more independent now. If I sit him up on the pull out (that's very low to the ground) and sit toys in front of him he will sit and play for a bit. Not a long bit, but a little bit, lol. He loves remote controls and phones, preferably real ones and not his own play ones. He's eating his Gerber purees well now and he loves green beans, sweet potatoes, carrots, applesauce, prunes (yes prunes), pears and almost all the stage 2 fruits along with the mixed vegetables. Hates peas, peaches and bananas. For the past few nights he actually slept all night long but it was proven to be a fluke last night after he woke up 3 times! Damn, I thought my dreams had come true!!

He is a lover of music like you wouldn't believe! When he hears a song he likes he waves his arms and claps like he's dancing especially in church. As long as the choir is singing he's in heaven (no pun intended). He has a major crush on Beyonce' and its the cutest thing you've ever seen. When he hears her music he laughs and claps and when she is on tv his eyes are glued stuck!! I thought it was just female singers but nope, lil man's got a thing for Miss B.

Xav has quite the little attitude and wants things when he wants them and the way he wants them. It's hard to believe how quickly they develop their little personalities. If the food is not ready when he wants it or if he's been waiting for someone to come pick him up a little too long he screams bloody murder until he gets what he wants. He's really not what I would call a "cry baby" but when he does, oh man, it's LOUD and ANGRY!!

All in all, it's such a joy to watch my son learn and grow and discover. We plan on getting him an exersaucer tomorrow (when hubby gets paid, lol) and I can't wait to see the fun he's gonna have with that. He's the light of my day and more of a blessing than I could have ever imagined. I'm sure I've forgotten some of his milestones in this blog for they are soooo many. When I remember them, I'll let you ladies know. Life is great and Xavier makes it greater.
