23-7-2009 - My Hospital visit

My mood while writing this blog: Relieved

So as most of you know, I took a bad fall at work yesterday, so I called my doctor's office and they told me to go to Labor & Delivery. I have to tell you, I went by myself because my BF couldn't be there and I didn't ant anyone else there. Well, I parked my car and go inside, and good lord I am not kidding it took me 15 minutes to get to L&D. I couldn't believe it. I told them if I was in labor, I never would have made it. lol

Everyone was very nice and they got me all hooked up on the monitors and stuff. i am not looking forward to staying there when I have the baby, because the bed was horrible. I arrived about 2:00pm and they said they would monitor me for 6 hrs. I was bummed because when I called the first time the doctor said it would be 1-2 hrs, then when the doctor called me back, they said it would be 2-4 hrs. Things were going ok, they came in and checked me and checked my stomach and things were good, but when they checked me around 6:00pm I had a lot of pain when she started pushing on my stomach. That meant I could eat, and I couldn't go home at 8:15. I wanted to cry, I had not eaten since 9:00pm the night before and I was starving, I wa on my second pitcher of ice and I had only been able to go to the bathroom once. They did let me get to go to the bathroom a second time.

Well, I ended up staying until about 12:00am, I think the baby was driving the nurses crazy because she kept moving away from the monitor say they were having a very hard time keeping track of her heart rate. They said they knew she was fine, because she kept kicking the monitor when they would try to put it in a new place. lol Everything did turn out fine and the doctor that finally said I could go home agreed to see me in 2 wks since my doctor is on vacation and I don't see midwives.

I have to say that they were all really great and took great care of Dani and I and I am very confident that we will get great care when she is born. Thanks to everyone for your prayer and concern, it helped get us through. Also since my BF couldn't be there with me, he stayed on the phone with me almost the entire night. I finally told him to got to bed about 11:30 because he was starting to fall asleep on the phone. He gets up at 4:30am to go to work. He was really worried and that made me feel good.
