| 19-6-2009 - IS THIS TEST POSITIVE??? PICTURE ATTACHED |
My mood while writing this blog: Wondering |
The dark line on the left is the control line, the lighter line one to the right is the line I am questioning. This is a TARGET BRAND Ovulation test. Am I about to ovulate? The insert says both lines have to be dark if your O'ing, so say I am not ovulating in the next 2 days according to this test, would I have no line at all on the right? So that line mean I am real close to "O"ing? So confused, I never used OPK tests before! I bought this test from target, seven target brand tests for $12.49. Thanks for the help!

Saturday, 20 Jun I am not very good at this stuff, but with my first child I took a book called "the fastest way to get pregnant naturally' from my library - has a 2 page section either on pg. 123 or 132 that tells you exactly when to bd using the opk's - i got preggo the 1st month i followed the book - hope it helps and tons of dust! Saturday, 20 Jun the 2nd line has to be as dark or darker than the control line. i wouldnt say that is a Pos OPK yet, try again in a few more hours as your surge is probably building. i have had many opk's that have been so close to being as dark as the control line, but not quite. needless to say i didnt ovulate (which is why i am on clomid right now) soo, BD just to be safe but I would test again :-) thebigtomato -
Saturday, 20 Jun This is the darkest my opk's ever get, so I would assume it's positive and just bd like crazy! :) ♥Always -
Saturday, 20 Jun I agree with Diane. That is what happened to me! You will probebly find tomorrow it will be darker. GOOD LUCK! cluckandjen -
Saturday, 20 Jun Looks positive to me, fingers crossed it happens this month hun x Cindie -
Friday, 19 Jun It's negative.. basically your test line must be as dark or darker than the control line (I assume the control is on the left?)
HOWEVER! Test again in 8 to 12 hrs because you can miss your window if you don't. :) Sometimes the LH surge dissipates within 12 hrs but ovulation will occur within 12-36 hrs after a positive... so you should be babydancing right now! nununoodle -
Friday, 19 Jun The second line has to be darker or as dark than the test line for it to be positive. I use the Target brand OPK all the time. They are great. joeyandzacksmommy2007 -

Friday, 19 Jun I always have two lines every time I test with OPK's. Your test line needs to be as dark as or darker than the control line to indicate an LH surge. yorkie puggle -
Friday, 19 Jun OHHHH thank you so much girls! I WILL POST THE PIC IN MY PHOTO BOOK SO YOU CAN SEE IT BETTER! 1blessedmomma -
Friday, 19 Jun I def see 2 lines, but I've never taken one of these before so idk. I do know however that most women ovulate 12-16 days after the first day of their lmp. So if your period started on June1, you would be ovulating June 13-June 17. Hope this helps and good luck!! DiandClover -
Friday, 19 Jun lol - you tricked me too, thought this was a HPT first off!! Ok, looks like your LH is building, but not surging yet. I would say you will see your positive result in the next day or so, but you are in your fertile 'window' now - sperm can live for 5 days or so - so get busy with your man!! When you do see your positive, you will then ovulate 24 - 48 hours after that. It is common for some women to build up the test line over a number of days before a positive, while others go from no line to positive within 24 hours. The other thing about LH surges is sometimes they last less than 24 hours - if you test for the rest of the week and don't quite get a positive result, assume you had a 'fast' surge and likely did ovulate. I used a kit along with tracking my temps, just to confirm ovulation for sure. I only used OPK's for one month - so bloody expensive unless you order online! torybailey -
Friday, 19 Jun I would say YES!!!! :)
