02-9-2009 - Our 12 Week SONOGRAM & Check-up/GD Results!

My mood while writing this blog: Thankful

Hello,

Yesterday on Sept. 1st 2009 we had our 12 week sonogram, Everything went well with the scan, the baby was right on target coming in at 12 weeks and a day. Heartbeat was at 167 beats per minute. We had the Ultrascreen test done where the sono tech. measures the babies neck, and along with that I drip blood into 5 different spots on this paper and they send it in to be tested for any birth defects. The neck measurements and blood results combined is how they get the results for the test.

My Placenta is low again, same thing happened with my DD so I had a feeling that would be the case this time. SO THE GOOD NEWS is we get to have another sonogram in 3 weeks. I will be 15 weeks then, we have it scheduled for Sept. 22nd 2009. Maybe we can get a peak at the sex of the baby, but I doubt it, at my 16 week sono with my DD they told me that is was too soon to tell. Oh and we can't Bed Dance until after they look at me on the 22nd. They want to make sure my Placenta has risen before we resume any of those activities, lol.

GESTATIONAL DIABETES:

Well, I took the 3 hour Glucose test a week and a half ago. I got the results lastnight. There are 4 parts to the test, if you fail 2 parts you failed the test. I ONLY FAILED ONE PART! So......I passed, which is GREAT, but they still want me on the GD Diet as my numbers are still out of whack if I don't follow it. I will have to take the 3 hour test again a couple months from now, that sucks. I know I have it, and I gotta go through that grose drink again? Oh well, I gotta do what I gotta do! Oh and they check your pee for protein and glucose and I didn't spill any in my urine so that was great, and my blood pressure was EXCELLENT, 107 over 71.

They told me that whatever I am doing, to keep doing it. And I didn't gain not one pound since my last visit 4 weeks ago. I WILL BE POSTING THREE OF MY 12 WEEK SONO PICS LATER TONIGHT, I will scan them when I get home from work.

CRAMPING:

I have been having cramping in the last day or two, and the doc said because this is my second baby my uterus is growing at a very fast pace and that is why I feel those throbbing cramps, she said it is normal.

I am SO happy that everything went well, I made myself crazy the last 3 weeks with this whole GD issue, I am glad that I am ok and eatting right and doing the right thing. I feel good. I can't wait for the 15 week scan.
