06-4-2009 - ITS A...

My mood while writing this blog: Happy woohoo!!

GIRL!! Oh I'm so happy! I went in for my ultrasound today at 11:00am and I was happy my husband came with me. This is the first time my husband has come with me to my appointment, so I think is was a good experience for him to register in his brain that we are having a baby and that there is a live moving human inside my tummy, and it was. The plasma tv wasn't working so I was kind of disappointed that we had to watch on the small monitor. We got to hear to heart beat (142 bpm) and she was moving all around, everytime the tech would try and get a pic she would move heeheehee! She opened her mouth, kept moving her hands, placing one hand under her chin, her legs were crossed at the ankles...too cute! The tech said everything looks good, although she couldnt get a good shot of the full spine and my placenta is a bit low, but the tech reassured me that because Im still early, 18 weeks, this could all change so she wants me to come back at 22 weeks. I think my husband was a bit disappointed that it wasn't a boy but I think all men want a boy first, the important thing is that she's healthy. Oh and my due day has been bumped up one day, Sept 6. :)

Hey girl,
I just found out 3 days ago at my 19 week ultra sound that we are expecting a baby girl too and similar to your hubby, my husband was quite disappointed. You are right, every man wants a boy first. Once those little girls are here, they will melt but I think its normal for husband's to have some initial disappointment. They wont love them any less once they arrive though. I am over the moon we are having a little girl though.....at least we better now that we have gone out and bought girly clothes and paint etc....haha. They are wrong sometimes but I saw her bits, Im pretty darn sure its a girl, lol.
