| 15-5-2008 - My Pregnancy | My mood while writing this blog:happy |
November 2nd, 2007
Well, today is my last day of work! Boohoo (NOT!) I will not be on as often as I have during the pregnancy, but I will try to keep you all updated as much as I can after the little guy gets here on Tuesday. Good luck to all of you who are trying to conceive and who are already pregnant!

Dr.'s appointment today....No weight gain again! WOOHOO! His heartbeat still sounds strong, he is rolling and kicking up a storm. Nothing else to tell about today's visit, except only 12 days and some hours to go! Can't wait to see Caiden!
October 17, 2007
Dr.'s appt. today went pretty good. He noticed a little swelling in my legs, but they are much better than last time...he didn't seem too concerned. They checked my iron, it was good! Woohoo! My bp was good, Caiden's heartbeat was strong, sugar levels were good during the last week...I lost a pound, but no biggie (could be the clothes!) I have gained 21 pounds, but that is down 3 pounds since September 12th. I gained about 35 with the last one, so I am happy with only 21!! Less than 3 weeks to go!!! We can't wait to see Caiden Avery and hold him!
October 11, 2007
The due date is final...November 6th! Woohoo, they moved it up! Now I will be at home on my birthday and hopefully if the gestational diabetes goes away I can have cake! LOL The doctor says the baby seems to be doing good, strong heartbeat. He sat and talked to us for a few minutes, asking us if we had any questions or concerns...which of course we did. It was great to see MY doctor for a change. He is so laid back and easy going. He seems to think the diabetes should be gone after Caiden is born....let's hope so (Knock on wood). I am so excited to have only 26 more days to get to share him with the world. (My hubby tells me all the time I am hogging him LOL) The Dr. said my numbers look really good from the finger pricks and to keep it up. He told us a lot more about what could happen to Caiden if we didn't watch what I ate...which someone else could have done, but they all played big dumb and stupid when you asked them. All of the other people in the office act like we are all a herd of cows, get 'em in move 'em out! I have not been happy this time with the "customer service" provided by this office. Oh well, sorry had to vent! Update more after the next visit on Oct. 17th.
September 2007
Since all of my updates have gotten erased over night I thought I would try to remember what I put on here for September. I got diagnosed with gestational diabetes and I have to prick my finger 4-5 times a day! I have to eat certain things in order to keep my sugar levels where they need to be. I can't stand being told what I can eat, especially since all I have craved during this pregnancy is sweets! But it is all for one of the greatest causes in the world, that is what I keep reminding myself.
I found out that my doctor isn't even going to be working on the day he wanted me to have my c-section. I told them nobody else is cutting on me, so it may be moved up a couple of days..woohoo! I will update again on October 10, my next OB-GYN appointment.
August 30, 2007
Well, I had my regular scheduled appointment today, only the nasty Gestational (sp?) Diabetes test! UGH I found out my iron was lower than last month, despite the fact I have been taking iron supplements they prescribed last month. It was 10.2 last month and 8 this morning. So now I have to go back in 2 weeks instead of 1 month. I should know the results of my blood test on Monday after lunch...kinda worried now! They said the shaky feelings I have been having could be a sign of either the low iron or diabetes, so now I just have to worry all weekend and wait! I thought I was doing good with my weight too, but had gained 8 pounds since last month..now 20 pounds...I know it could be worse though. I will just deal with extra exercise after he is born. Well, that is all for now...updates after the blood test results on Tuesday.

We had the 3D ultrasound done on Saturday and it was amazing. He was so active, he would keep hiding though. I would highly recommend to anyone who is considering getting this done and can afford it to take advantage of it if you can. The DVD we got recorded the whole thing, about 30 minutes of him moving around, including a snipet of the heartbeat. I was 28 weeks when this was done.
August 14, 2007
I wanted to tell everyone a little bit about me and the rest of the family. We have lived in the Taylorsville/Cartersville area all of our lives (sticking to our roots). We now live 1 mile from where I grew up. We just built a new house last year and spent our first night in it on Thanksgiving 2006. We were very thankful it was finished! My husband and I met on the softball field and started dating soon after. To my surprise we were engaged 5 weeks and 4 days later. We have now been married for 11 years +. We had our first child when I was 30, after years of nonsuccessful trying. She is an awesome blessing. I never knew two people could be so much alike (she is just like me, personality wise anyway). She is quite the personality, unlike me though. She loves attention and doesn't meet a stranger (that can be bad too). She is now 5 years old.
We found out we were expecting #2 shortly after our 11th anniversary. We were both kind of stunned but excited too. In June we all went to find out the sex of the baby...by ALL I mean, my mama and daddy, sister and neice, mother-in-law, and my husband and little girl. My husband and little girl came in with me initially, we wanted her to find out first. Of course on her way out to get the others she decides to tell all of them it was a boy, I knew she would. She thought the ultrasound was very neat. The fact she could see the baby moving around in there made all the difference in the world to how she is now with her "baby brother". She kisses him goodnight and talks to him every night and loves to feel him kick me, she thinks that is funny.
Everything after this has gone by pretty fast. I played softball for the first 5 months, but then the season ended. Trust me I was very careful and if I thought I was over doing it I took myself out of the game. I did ask my doctor before continuing playing, he said as long as I felt ok to keep it up. That helped my husband and the rest of my family feel better about it. I think it gave me more energy to play and kept me from gaining too quickly. Enough rambling, more later....
