20-9-2008 - Pregnant Again!!

My mood while writing this blog: wiped out!

We cant believe we are expecting again!!

What a shock, we though the IUD was a safe method of contraception but a fat lot of good that did! After many tears and worries we have decided that actually this is a very good thing! At first we were worried because Sarah is still very young and we originally werent going to try for another one until she was about to start school! But all things happen for a reason. We were also worried because Shell has scoliosis and its been particularly bad recently and the strain of the pregnancy will be hard enough without already having a bad back! We are praying that Shell doesnt get SPD and end up on crutches like she did last time.

Unfortunately for us, we cant seem to keep secrets and now we are absolutely thrilled about having another baby, everyone knows!

Shell was worried about the high level of medications she has been on and the effect it may have on the baby, but to a great surprise her last midwife decided to take over! She was an absolute star and phoned up the medicine unit at the hospital and put Shell's mind at ease that everything would be ok! Shell is reducing her level of antidepressants and hopes to come off them completely within a few weeks, fingers crossed!

The great thing about having the same midwife as last time is that she already knows Shell from last time and has already booked her in for the booking in appointment early.
