My mood while writing this blog: Tired and ill |
Today has been a challenging day for Shell. She's just started feeling some of the initial side effects of being pregnant - bloated, tired, dizzy spells and nausea. Hopefully these are just the initial side effects and they will clear soon as last pregnancy Shell suffered hyperemesis and SPD, so she could really do with a lucky break. Sarah is already in her terrible twos stage before she's even two years old and although she behaved for me this morning, she was a little terror this afternoon! Doing everything that she wasn't allowed to do and causing us grief, worry and just generally being a toddler. Fortunately I'm around at the weekends to help out, especially more so now that Shell is pregnant again. With all the symptoms beginning to show I'm sure Shell is glad for some time to relax and recuperate.
And on top of all that we had a rat get into our aviary and kill one of our birds. We were devastated and have spent the afternoon patching up holes and shutting the poor birds away to keep them protected until we can get the council to send someone round to clear out the rat (or rats as I think I may have seen a younger one as well as the adult). As if we didn't have enough to worry about! But at least that's a small issue that we can sort out, so we can concentrate on the bigger things - looking forward to the new arrival and thinking about all the things we're going to have to do in preparation. Of course, first off we just have to wait out the next few weeks until the 12th week is passed and we can feel assured that all is right with the baby.
