26-10-2008 - On the mend!

My mood while writing this blog: ok

Well I came out of hospital the following day (21/10/08), and I'm slowly starting to feel better! In hospital they gave me 3 bags of iv fluids and some iv meds and I found I started to be able to keep down fluids again..then slowly I found I could keep down small bits of food. I decided that by that point I wanted to go home, because I didnt get much sleep in hospital and I was missing Sarah. I have to say that this will probably be my last baby, I have never felt so ill before. Hyperemesis Gravidarum is not a pleasant thing to have.

The benefit of staying at hospital was that I got a scan of the little bubba, the doctors wanted to rule out the possibility of multiple pregnancy. And thankfully there is only one little bubba in there. Mum came down to help me out with Sarah for a few days while I'm getting better which has been a lifesaver, as obviously Gavin is at work in the day. My brother has come down as Mum had to go back home to work, and he is going to help me out this week. Im really grateful to both of them for all they have done to help, its nice to know im having to cope on my own with Sarah while im feeling so rubbish.

Gavin has also been really good helping me out in the evenings and at the weekends. Im feeling quite weak still and my appitite is terrible, but he's helping by encouraging me to have small meals (rather than not eating when I'm feeling ill)...I have 3 different anti-sickness meds, which seem to be doing the job, still i'm really grateful to be out of hospital and with my family!!
