My mood while writing this blog: Frustrated/Upset/Confused |
Went to my Doctor apt this morning, I came out upset and frustrated. Again my blood pressure was up (157/90). Like always whenever I am at the dr’s office. Then the nurse had me lay on my left side for 5mins then took it again. It was like 127/70 something. I brought in my machine and showed them that at home just 2 days ago it was 123/70 something. No protein in my urine, 24 hour urine screen back in March was fine, no right quadrant pain, no history of high blood pressure for me before being pregnant. I am so upset. I want the best for my baby and I just wish they would do something or not. My blood pressure is still great at home when I take it. The doctor asked me to log it at home for the next 2 weeks for my next apt. I am just worried…what if there is something…what if it is nothing. I don’t know how to feel or act. I felt rushed at this apt. The doctor only said maybe 2 sentences. He did not seemed worried and told me that he is sure I don’t have toxemia. The nurse told me that if I have any headaches to call the doctors office right away. I just want to cry I am so frustrated and worried. But, I am trying hard to stay calm for my little one. Guess I will be logging my blood pressure and waiting for my next apt in two weeks. Please pray for me ladies, I need it.
I decided to call my sister-in-law after writing the first half of this blog. She is a nurse practitioner. She made me feel a lot better and even had me call my doctor to let them know I was upset and worried over that little word. Bless my sister-in-law for being so compassionate and knowledgeable. I am not too worried now b/c my blood pressure doesn’t stay at high numbers 24/7. I really need to get over being anxious at the doctor.
In addition: 31 WEEKS TODAY...YAY
Good Luck to everyone, Hope all is well, and God Bless!

Friday, 26 Sep When they take your blood pressure do your feet touch the floor? I have found that mine is slightly high when my feet dangle off the table, but is fine when my feet are flat on the floor. Just Jodi -

Thursday, 25 Sep Hi, I know everyone is saying it but try not to stress its probably that white coat syndrome again sending you BP high, as long as its normal when your at home its probably nothing to worry about. Do you get it taken as soon as you go in the office or at the end of your appt, maybe your axnoius as to what he will say, ask him to take it at the opposite end of your appt than he normally does and see if that makes a difference. Hope all goes well at you next appt keep us posted. xx emmaflower987 -
Thursday, 25 Sep P.S. and think your lucky stars EVERYDAY that you SIL is so caring toward you... my boyfriends sister hates my guts.. with no reason... she will even tell people that lol! it used to get me down but then i realized how stupid she sounded when she would make comments like "i just hate her.. i have no reason i just do" lol so you are lucky to have a SIL that cares so much about you!! emmaflower987 -
Thursday, 25 Sep Im so sorry that you are having to go through all this stress... BUT look on the bright side, at least your blood pressure is pretty normal at home and just goes up at the dr.'s office!! I actually have the exact opposite problem as you.. my blood pressure is always really low.. to the point that i often feel faint! Back at the beginning of my pregnancy my dr. said something about it being so low and he said that if i ever felt faint, light-headed, or dizzy it is cause my blood pressure dropped... and sure enough every single time i feel like that i check my blood pressure and its really low! My dr. told me there isint a whole sider myself lucky that i wast now and just to consider myself lucky that i wasnt suffering from high blood pressure! I am actually about go to to my dr.'s appointment.. i am 31 weeks and 4 days.. i have been feeling alot of pressure "down there" and sometimes when i wipe it is SOOO tender so i will be having to ask my dr about that.. anyways, try not to stress cause that WILL make your blood pressure go up! keep me updated and i will up-date you on my dr visit when i get home!!! Thursday, 25 Sep I am so sorry to hear how frustrated you are!!!! Before I got pregnant my blood pressure spiked at the doctors office and he had me record mine at home as well. It was comforting to know that my blood pressure was good, it was only high because I was anxious to see the doctor. I am hoping this is the case for you as well. I will certainly keep you in my thoughts :)
