| 18-1-2009 - Fertility Clinic Part Two | My mood while writing this blog:ok |
Update on the fertility clinic.
I went for the Dye Test on Thursday. It really was not as bad as I expected. It was over very quickly. We are talking maybe a min it took him to do it. The doctor gave me the results right away and my tubes are not blocked they are fine. I feel very relieved. After the test I left but started to get really bad cramps, and some spotting. He had told me to expect this, it was normal. I am very happy this part is over with. I can do without doing this test again. I have had some cramping for about two-three days now from it. The spotting has seemed to stop. If any of you are doing to do a dye test please feel free to send me a messege I will be happy to fill you in all about it. Thanks to those of you who eased my mind about it, before I went.
Friday (Day 11 of my cycle) - I went in to do my weekly ultra sound and blood work. They said I have four follicles (eggs) that are maturing. They measured them at 1.0 what is apparently normal for where I am at in my cycle. The nurse told me that I need it to reach 2.0 to make me ovulate. They are guessing I will ovulate between day 16-18 since I have a 32 day cycle. I have to go back on Tuesday to have another ultra sound and more blood done to watch to make sure I do ovulate this week. They gave me a pap and a swab test (microbiological something cant remember the name) to make sure everything is fine there. I have been poked at so much in the past two weeks, I cant believe it. I have nice size bruise on my arm from all the blood they keep taking. I also found out that my hubby cant do his sperm test until he obstains for 3-5 days. We were planning on having that done on that day. Well we bd on wednesday so that didnt work out.
I had the lab tech check my ovaries for pcos, since I was diagnosed with it and never had them checked. She showed me the images on the screen and my ovaries do not have the cysts. What is very strange for someone with pcos. She said they are fine and there is no sign of any cysts. She questioned my diagnoses and figured the reason for my diagnoses is a hormone issue. I am over joyed that they are ok and dont have the cysts. That takes away another obstacle I thought I had to deal with. For those of you who dont know about pcos, basically one of the major signs is ovaries covered in cysts. I actually was not aware that you can have pcos without having the pcos ovaries. I am going to bring this to my fertility doctors attention next time I see him at the end of this month.
On Tuesday after my next appointment we both need to go to a seperate lab to have the blood work done we have to pay for. We did find out it's going to be alittle cheaper then we expected. It's 330 dollars for both of us. We went on friday but the lab said they only do the tests mon-thurs. This is a result I am really looking forward to because it can tell me if there is a problem with me carrying a baby, since I have had three m/c.
I am still very excited at all this but never can be to happy about getting my goodies poked at all the time. I am really hoping my eggs mature enough in time and everything goes smoothly. I will keep you all posted. Thanks so much for the support!! Cross your fingers for me please. I need this week to go well.
