| 27-9-2009 - Low Fluid | My mood while writing this blog:ok |
Friday September 18th,
31 weeks two days
I went for my normal doctor appointments at the high risk clinic/hospital with the ob and diabetec doctor. After my appointments I had a ultra sound. This is my first ultra sound since July. After my ultra sound I had to go sit with a nurse to get the results. The nurse told me that my fluid around the baby was very low and I must go speak to a doctor. She directed me to labour and delivery floor at the hospital. Right away I had a very bad feeling. I went to the proper floor where two other nurses met with me and asked me to get into a gown and lay down. That is when I was told they were going to keep me and more then likely induce me!!! I had no leaking and the placenta was working fine as baby measured at four pounds. They just could not figure it out. After being checked out to make sure I was not leaking they put me in a room. I was given two shots over two days to help the baby's lungs mature, to be prepared to be induced. I was terrified!!! Every four hours (including at night) they came in to check baby's heart beat and record movements ect.. I seen a few different doctors while I was in each telling me different outcomes of this. Some said they would for sure induce me that week others saying they are just keeping a eye on me. My fluid was at 1.9 when it should have been at least 8. I was extremely upset and worried.
On Monday I went for a second ultra sound and the fluid had gone up alittle so they let me go home. I was sooo happy. My ob attended this ultra sound and double checked everything. I was released on the condition I would come back the following day for yet another ultra sound to check the fluid.
Tuesday I went back and the fluid was still about the same, so they scheduled me for another ultra sound friday.
Friday, September 25th,
I went back to have another ultra sound and seen my ob. My ob told me my fluid was up to 7.1 and believes that the ultra sound tech on the previous friday may have just measured the fluid wrong!!!
That was sure a huge scare for me. I was so terrified that baby was going to born so early and not sure if she would survive!!! I go back next friday for another ultra sound and see my doctors. I was told to keep notice of all baby movements, to make sure she is still moving around good. It was a horrible experience not to know what was going to happen to me or baby. I am just so very relieved that baby is fine and things are back to normal for now.
Sorry it took so long for my updates...
